We recently moved, and I made curtains for our new bedroom. We really need them to block out all of the light that comes in - so these are great!

True colors. The ric-rack is about 1 1/2" wide. Love it!

Close up of fabric. The Mister picked it out. It goes with the western theme we have for our room. (The curtains *are* straight on the wall, I just can't take a straight photo today, apparently.) The curtains are a simple square design. I did a rolled hem for the bottom, casing for the top. Took me about 45 minutes to make.

The fabric is by Debbie Mumm. I'm really liking a lot of her designs. She's my second favorite designer - behind Alexander Henry. I believe the name of this fabric is either "Rodeo", or "Cowboy Up". It comes in other background colors, but we went with the dark for the light-blocking factor.

Do you ladies have favorite fabric designers?

My daughter is prego with my grandson, and due pretty soon, so she asked me make a liner for this vintage bassinet that belongs to her fiance's mom. I had found a nice pattern for bassinet things at Savers not too long ago, so we went and got fabric the other day, and I have been sewing all weekend. This didn't take too long, and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. We are all very pleased with it! I know it's not vintage, but the bassinet is! lol I am going to be a fabulous grandma, I think! (Also the youngest, but that's another story....;) )

I know, but I'm excited anyway! :D My daughter is 20, and I will be 38 this coming October. I figure I am lucky because I am young enough to be able to get down on the floor (without pain in my legs!) with the baby and play!

Wow! the bassinet cover is amazing! Congrats on the new baby. Everyone says grandbabies are even more fun than your own.

It was so nice to wake up to so many sweet comments today-thank you, girls! :) I am very excited about my grandbaby-my daughter lost my granddaughter last year at 35 weeks, so this new little fella is very, very special to us. And I am very excited about the part where I get to do all the fun kid stuff with him and then give him back to his mama for the messy stuff....lol

I plan to make lots more baby things, and I am having a ton of fun with it!

You are lucky for this indeed- my mum was your age when she had me and I'm her first kid!

Not clothes......

But I made things!

This is a set of lingerie bags I embroidered (yes, but hand) and made for the lovely Miss Queenie, who has consented to having me show them.....

The bigger one is about 12 inches across and 6 up and down....

The color is actually a soft green...and while some of the flowers seem very sparkly and spotty...its just the shine of the floss, which is the extra shiny kind.

There is another set, which I will show later if the recipient approves.

Gorgeous work -- that kind of detail is such a lost art today!

Thank you!

The patterns are actual vintage transfer ones. Merely retraced instead of ironed on, so that the patterns aren't one time only.

Flea Markets tend to have whole bags of jumbled old transfer patterns for really cheap, since no one knows what to do with them anymore. ;)
