Thanks! I have tried to find actual D.R.G.M. records but haven't been successful. This would be very helpful with hats that have trademarks but no company mark. The current German trademark searches are not complete. Do you have any ideas?

I'm sorry: for moment I have no more information about DRGM. Don't know if there is such a record list. But in contrast to real patents I never saw DRGM-numbers. You should ask Fastuni, he could know better.

Yes I think you are correct. I might have confused them with Ges. Gesch. numbers which I also haven't been able to find.

Lembert "Extra", 58cm probably later 1950s early 1960s. The brim has massive flange which is interesting. The interior is very soiled so not so appealing but I like the form.

"Echter Rockel Hut" Rockel Alsfeld, Kraemer & Van Elsberg, G.M.B.H. Köln probably late 1920s or 1930s. I really like marketing / sales items like this placard. The placard has an patented enamel coating and a unique folding stand. Kraemer & Van Elsberg, G.M.B.H. Köln were known for such enamel placards. I also really like the Rockel logo and "Echter Rockel Hut" typography.

This placard is covered with Simili-Enamel. D.R. Patent. Often cleaning with a soft, damp cloth gives the placard its original appearance. Kraemer & van Elsberg, G.rn.b.H., Cologne

Stefan, Thanks! I am pretty sure the brim curl was modified because it doesn't match other Lembert Homburg Forms.

I bought this hat a couple of weeks ago. I have one other german hat, a Wegener, that I like so much I thought I would take a chance on this one. It is also very nice, soft felt, great color and I like the small sharks gill. It's a Mayser Milz. I read through most of this thread and saw a few examples of earlier Mayser Milz Cie. hats. I would guess this hat is from the 70s, though the oil skin tip protector would be out of place on a hat that new. Can anyone tell me anything about this version of Mayser Milz?

Richard, Super! It's post 1970 and my guess would be mid to later 1970s maybe 1980s. I am not sure if it was made in Ulm or Lindenberg. The Mayser Brand hats from the same time period have a similar paper label.

Thanks Steve, After these first two, the German hats will be a higher priority for me. May warrant a road trip to antique shops in some of the historically German towns south of here.

Hückel Weilheim "Derby", 58cm probably later 1950s. I really like the form and high side dents. Also really like the ribbon felt color contrast. Hückel Weilheim made fantastic looking Homburgs.

Steve, Beautiful homburg, what color would you say the ribbon is? On my screen it looks light gray with maybe a hint of pink.

I finally can post a hat on this thread. Today my Hückel Chamois fedora in black arrived from France. The finish on the felt is so soft and smooth. It was a little crushed by the international travel, but responded to a little steam bath nicely. I am thinking this may be a newer hat. Some details like plastic lining behind the sweat and the shaped crown insert seem more modern. The sweatband is paper thin, not in a bad way, but not supple. The stamping on the sweat is of the same quality of a modern Stetson. Overall, a very nice hat. It is too big at 7 3/8, but shimming should help.
