Here's a picture of Paavo Nurmi in his store in 1939.

Stefan, Great + Interesting find! I think this one is from the very late 1950s maybe early 1960s. As I mentioned above there were Trademark issues (I don't have written details but just reference hats). I think at this point in time Hückel Weilheim had the German market (not sure if they officially had the Trademark but possible Tonak didn't want to challenge it?) and everywhere else Tonak had the Hückel Trademark. Factory 101 (Tonak 1) was Johann Hückel´s Söhne main factory (Neutitschein, Nový Jičín) which is still in operation today.

If you (or anyone) want to know what happened post WWII in Czechoslovakia you can check this out (rough translation).

Janyška & Cie. (Tonak 2)

Steve, thanks for the information and the dating. I know a bit of the history through your earlier posts on the subject, but it doesn't make it any easier for me to date the hats. I think by the time this hat left the shop in Helsinki Paavo Nurmi would have been busy with his other businesses.

Nice news and Hats Gentlemen. Great Hückel Mike. Stefan great find too!
I have also found a new one. A Wegener Colonel in Gray/Green with green ribbon.
A stingy brim and very common in the 60s.

Thanks Steve, no, that was a Düsseldorf find. A lot of hats crossed my way in Düsseldorf but nothing worth to buy it. The conditions of these hats are more as bad. Cracked Sweatbands, paint spots on the felt and some to expensive for a fleamarket.

Here's a new find I posted in the New Hat section. Steve (MeyserWegener) suggested I post it in this forum, too.
A 1960's Resistol fedora made under license by Wegener in Germany.

Steve told me an interesting fact. Klaus Theodor Wegener worked at Resistol in the 1950's. Hence the connection between Wegener and the Texas hat makers. Both companies are still in existence, Resistol being HatCo now with Stetson and Dobbs under it's wings.
It's a really well made hat, which is great to wear. In fact, I'm wearing it today [emoji5]

Steve, Thanks regarding the J.Hückel´s Söhne "Paltin". Thank you for posting the Resistol - Wegener. It looks great!
You're welcome Steve and thanks to you, too, especially for sharing your knowledge about the Wegener - Resistol connection.
I'm liking this hat more and more. I think it will be the hat I take with me to London in a couple of weeks.
