Stefan, Thanks again!Again, a wonderful hat, Steve. Heather felt, curled brim, nice wide ribbon; what's not to like? Alas people don't contact me to come along and pick up their hats...
instant favouriteSandmann Wien XV, measures 58cm, Crown 6 inches, Brim Curled 2 inches maybe 1930s. I believe it's a multi color Wool or a Wool - Fur blend. The felt is really fantastic (colors, finish, hand) most likely a Flamand. It doesn't have any paper label and I believe it had a crown patch at one time. Heinrich Sandmann was Chairman of the Austrian and Vienna Hat Makers associations (as of 1926) but I haven't been able to find any other details. This hat is part one of a two Sandmann Wien XV find. I was contacted by the seller (from Vienna who I have purchased a number of hats from in the past) during by trip so I was able to pick up the hats along the way.

Very interesting find, Steve. That longer bow design is really striking.Sandmann Wien XV, Wool, measures 58cm, Crown 6 inches, Brim Curled 2 inches maybe 1930s. The Wool Felts finish is coarse and reminds of some of the Austrian and German Wool Stiff Felts I have that are from the same time period and earlier. The felt has a stiffness to it but still easily dry creases. Also uniquer long bow length is interesting. I really like finding olde Wool Soft Felt hats like this one and the other Sandmann Wien XV.

It's a beauty. Love the design of that liner."NEUHEIT / Novelty" "SPITZENKLASSE / Top Class", measures 58cm, late 1930s. This German Velour arrived recently. I am trying to figure out what company made it but that could prove futile. I really like the color and the Velour has a great finish and hand. Also the hat has a very unique liner design with reed piping.
The piping reed is visible the following photo (top of liner).

Stefan, Thank you again. Also you are correct about your "Leica" Velour being made by the same company. Can you make out the wording around "Neuheit" on the liner logo? It's a beauty. Love the design of that liner.
Can't make out the word on the left. The word on the right reads like "FEIN" (fine) to me.Stefan, Thank you again. Also you are correct about your "Leica" Velour being made by the same company. Can you make out the wording around "Neuheit" on the liner logo?

Matt, Thanks! I think you are correct about it being "EXTRA FEIN". Good detective work! This one is great! I love the color of the velour.
Maybe the wording around "Neuheit" is like "EXTRA FEIN"?
