Another one I have for a while and haven't posted either. Wegener Colonel fedora in grey. Size 55 (and can't get it to fit me). Bound brim 6,5 cm and crown 10 cm at the pinch. Nice colour combination and lovely felt. Too bad it isn't my size.

Stefan, That was a popular trademark for Wegener. I have had a few Colonels (Homburgs, Snap Brims) over the years.

This is really a cool find Steve. At first glance, I thought the hat would go in crown down. The vintage advertisements from the era are so special.

Thanks! Yes Oktoberfest starts tomorrow.

Here is an old / rare J.Hückel´s Söhne "Prima" from the 1930s. I have posted this one before but I will post it again for Oktoberfest 2017.

Very nice! Museum grade, as usual!

My hat has some wear and is a short hair finish, a little darker green. I actually bought it with the idea of wearing it to Oktoberfest. They have 4 or 5 different places for Oktoberfest in this tri-county area that I know about. We're going to the biggest one in a cool little town called Mt. Angel, Oregon. Next week is Oaks Bottom in Portland, then McMenamins and Newberg....

Thanks! I have only came across one other old JHS Trachten Velour that was a bit older but a tiny size.

It's great you have a big selection of Oktoberfest. Wear your Breiter well and Prosit! I am going to a German Bierfest (about 80 imported German / Austrian drafts) later today. :)

I posted pics of this hat when I first got it, under $30 IIRC, but these will be the first head shots, I think. The color is pretty accurate on my screen, kind of a dark moss color.

The ends of the satin (?) twisted rope used for the hat band had frayed and the insides were a different color. It was something that irked me, so I took a mini Blazer torch lighter and lit the ends. Now the ends are black and don't stick out so much, LOL. But I like it better.

Oh, and I hit the front brim with some steam to straighten up the wonky-ness...

Yes I remember this one. It's a high quality Trachten hat. The ends of the cords got frayed over time. Trimming them is fine. Sometimes there will be ornaments at the ends like this one (this is the older JHS Trachten hat a mentioned above, not mine).
