That alone would put me off. You were willing to travel all that way for a perfect fit he should be so honored if I do say so myself.
From lurking I’ve read your posts and your a big guy and not an easy fit. For $1,500 plus I want the works, fully tailored measurements especially when possible with a small maker.

I feel bad for derailing the thread so here are the measurement pictures of my incoming jacket. Probably should have gone with black but if your going to play with color might as well be at a lower price. Maybe I’ll have some fun with it like member Ton313

And if you want a custom made jacket from LW you get saddled with an extra 20% over the listed price which only covers the regular versions of his jackets. I wanted to order the downtown pattern for my son's 21st birthday next year but it'd cost around $2160+, as he is 6'8" 230lbs with monkey long arms. So fuhgeddaboutit.

I’m sure you already thought of Field leather. I could not help myself for the opportunity of a truly custom fit that I got crazy and put two deposits down. I bet he would consider it a challenge and welcome making a jacket for someone so large.

Yeah, Fields is one maker we're considering. But I'm not sure he tailors car coat type garments.

Not gonna sugar coat this. But be prepare to chop the sleeves off. The cuff is (11cm) 4.33" in the photo. I don't think it's gonna work for your arms. I got skinnier arms (than you) and I have trouble with 4.5" cuffs. So much so I chopped them off and wore as vest. I could slide the arm through, but there wasn't enough room to bend the arms. You'll see.

I had a Field Leather Manhattan that had the same problem and I had to sell it. He makes his sleeves extra skinny compared to others. So once you dialed in your fit with the cheaper 5Star, make sure you relate those info to Greg, his jackets cost more so no mistakes!

No please give it to me straight. I was worried because my wrist bare is 20cm so that isn’t counting for the leather and lining.

If they don’t fit I’m literally going to soak the sleeve end in hot water and stuff a full liter or similar bottle down the sleeve a little at a time and try to stretch it. I probably sound like a bit crazy, I have no idea if it will stretch but it’s worth a shot, it might gain a cm then settle back in place.

Here are poor shots of my wrist and forearm below compared to the jacket

I saw Riu’s cafe racer and it seems like his forearm was tight as you can get. Almost like if you don’t specifically tell them forearm measurements they take the cuff measurement all the way to the elbow with no bend.

Wrist opening is simple. Make your hand the same as you do when you slip it into the sleeve and measure the circumference. Done.
The hand must go through. Tighter does not work.
The wrist circumference only becomes relevant if there are buttons or zippers that can tighten the sleeve.

I think I’ll learn a lesson from this one. If it doesn’t fit I can suffer the loss.
I was looking at this measurement when I chose 11cm

Is that your jacket Marc? If you don’t mind me asking, do you know your approximate wrist circumference?

That gives me a good idea. It’s going to be close maybe not close all the way. I honestly ordered it with the intention to base future jackets on. If it cost a lot I’d be upset with myself but it’s all a learning experience.

I’m a bit worried about that sleeve diameter for you. We are similar in size but you have more mass than me. Lost 10lbs with covid and cutting my finger off. Those sleeves are about where I spec them and they are tight! Shawn’s leather is forgiving though. But they will be tight.
You can see at my size, I pretty much max out the sleeves. Particularly at the elbow. I wish I had gone 1” wider.

This actually sounds like a promising method. I'm going to try it. The forearms on my new HH HB fit like a condom. I've given he same sleeve measurements for other jackets including their HB and didn't have this problem. I'm having the button moved so I can get the jacket off but I'll still only be able to wear it with a t shirt because there is no room in the forearm for any other material.

Yeah man. Index finger. “Just the tip” at the first joint. Bit of a long and admittedly embarrassing story. All back together again now but you’d be surprised how much impact that finger has in relation to grip strength. And other mundane tasks like wiping your ass. Needless to say a rough few months. Happened on 9/16 and only recently has it felt normal again.

Damn that's horrible. Glad you're starting to feel better. You're still jacked though.

I’m worried too. I used your as a reference point because you are of similar size, though I’m shorter at somewhere between 5’9” and 5’10” but even though I’m about 200 lbs right now I’m not as bulky I guess, same reasons Covid and just lowered my training and meal accuracy. Anyone that frequents the gym knows it goes up and down. I’m getting older anyway maybe it’s time to do more cardio, the whole reason I lifted was keep the fat off, the more overweight my friends got from our poor western diet, the more incentive I had to get jacked lol.
I also got the cognac color to mess with it like you did, it funny your jacket came out color wise like a Italian wallet brand called Betlutti, they are hand stained and ridiculous at $700 plus
