How about the idea that the men could possibly be gentlemenly and -not read- threads concerning things they know they shouldn't be reading!?

Or are you all too controlled by the baser instincts to do that?

Seriously, if discussing pasties and breast augmentation is 'not a lingerie thread' then I bloody don't know what counts as a lingerie thread.

Just because some women do not mind, doesn't mean that there are not 50 others who are too intimidated and or embarassed to post that they -do- mind.

Are polls anonymous? We could do a poll.:eek:fftopic:

Edit: Also, I don't know that the guys "shouldn't be reading" a thread about Dita von Teese?

Given your comment quoted above, some of us apparently can't control our baser instincts irrespective of the forum section that we post in. Just my two cents...

Not true at all. There were no off color comments posted in that thread. Bear in mind we are talking about a stripper.

"shouldn't be reading" and "controlled by baser instincts"??
Is any other man on this board even slightly offended by these gross generalizations?
MissNeecerie, I was under the assumption the problem with the DVT thread in the Powder Room was more of an "Off-Topic" issue than a sexually inappropriate one. Are there other issues on the table here? Let us all please re-read that thread before we throw comments like the above around.
No gentleman posted an inappropriate comment in that thread. It might have been off-topic but it was certainly PG-13 enough for adults. Most of the ladies comments that followed show there was nothing detrimental in any comment or participation by men in certain Powder Room threads. This is certainly becoming a tempest in a teapot.
We men should not be considered horny bas***ds because one mentions a stripper strips!

Isn't this topic titled "Dita Von Teese "for Men"?
What is Miss Neceerie doing writing in a topic that is for men?
What if our shirts were off, or we were changing our trousers or, forbid, unshaven?
She of all people should know better.;)

Facetiously,
The Wolf

About Dita, I first saw pictures of her in Swing Time magazine. I think she looks lovely in a perfect vintage way. I appreciate that she isn't scrawny in the modern model way.
I also agree that we are fortunate Jitterbugdoll and Lolita Haze in the Lounge.
I hope I didn't sound too much little a dirty old man.

You missed my meaning...I found Miss Neecerie's comments offensive and was attempting to express my point not so directly. They came across as being made by someone with a major chip on their shoulder and an axe to grind.

That doesn't apply in the case of a thread entitled "Dita Von Teese". First of all, Dita is a subject of interest to both sexes. Secondly, the thread's title (and content) did not indicate that anything personal about the female Fedora Loungers themselves (i.e., their measurements, their undergarments, etc.) would be involved. The thread's topic is Dita, not the ladies of the Lounge.

Sorry but Miss Neecerie is out of order. I'm offended.

We are not Rapists, sex adicts and deviants.... or were you on about other baser instincts?

Have you a major problem with men? or is it all about the 'whats said in the powder room, stays in the powder room?'

If its so unreadable What is PM for? You can discuss your bits on that till your blue in the face.

I for one have been married for 25 years and have two grown daughters who fill the house with girlfriends! I get enough of women's problems, panties and bra's to last a lifetime without reading your panty threads.:rage:

There is nothing wrong with men posting about Dita Von Teese's lingerie ... even in the Powder Room. There is something wrong with men posting about Miss Neecerie's lingerie ... or Miss Queenie's ... or that of any other female Lounger.

The ladies of the Lounge do not have exclusive rights to the topic of a public figure such as Dita Von Teese. Why on earth would they?

Let me reply...

First of all, my comment about baser instincts was not about the Dita thread in particular. None of my comments were about that thread in particular other then categorizing it as a lingerie thread.

Men have been chased out of the Powder Room numerous times. I can go back and find the threads where it's happened. Yet persistently they come back and post, even when asked not to.

"but I use new posts", "but the Powder room is open"...... Unless you cannot read, you can see which room new posts appear in. I suppose it might be too much to ask for people to check that before replying.

And for what its worth, the baser instinct I was discussing was indeed the 'oooh they are talking about stockings or whatever' combined with the need to then -read and comment- to the thread when its about that.

That in no way resembles me calling anyone a rapist or sex addict or deviant. That resembles me calling people unable to -not read threads that were not intended for them- as catering to something other then gentlemenly behavior, incidently gentlemenly behavior that was -asked- of them.

Period.

Please send any additional hate mail to me in PM, so that the rest of the lounge doesn't need to be bothered with it. I will not be posting here again.

I think the ladies are just fed up with some men popping in the PR room and just any little thing is getting on their nerves.

I’d like to make mention that when we use the “New Posts” option, the topics do not indicate the room they’re in… so, we have guys seeing something interesting, they click, they read, they post… that’s about it!

The men here are not horny drooling slobbering wolves, it’s safe to say that we hold the largest number of gentlemen here on the net! However, written word can be taken out of context some times and things are said that are misunderstood. So, some get offended.

I’m some what disappointed at how things are handled on both sides in this thread… a discussion about a public celebrity such as Dita should have been discussed in the Observation Bar to begin with. I’m not pleased with some of the things said… and I feel strongly it came from some of our lady members getting tired of having us guys poking around their turf.

I say, when using the "New Posts" option, let's just check what room it takes us to before we post... ok gents? We must keep our fine ladies happy!

First - On Topic: I just saw Dita in In Style recently and didn't know anything about her except who her husband is till I read this thread. Sounds like an interesting woman. I shall watch her with more curiousity from now on. She is certainly beautiful.

And the other way this thread is going:

I don't mind the gents knocking and putting their head round the door. And accidents happen. Gents go into the Ladies by mistake and vice versa. I've done it myself in real life. Either it's an " Gents/Ladies out" or "No problem, we're all decent". It adds flavour to life, and I for one haven't come across a single gent on the FL that hasn't been a gent. Or a lady who hasn't been a lady for that matter.

Maybe first, gents just need a reminder that the PR is for ladies mainly, and guys use the thinking hat and be considerate when a topic is clearly ladies focussed, and leave when you or another gent has been asked to. Second, ladies should give the same respect to gents threads that are clearly discussing something the gents are really into, and is there a problem with ignoring them till they go away if they're in the PR? I've dropped in on the general topic threads and sometimes its gents (or ladies) dominated and I just know I'm not contributing and the conversation is really focussed to the point where I know I can't input anything meaningful and I'll just be in the road. So I leave, just like in real life. Thinking about it that happens in the PR too. It's not a problem really, is it? I doubt anybody who has posted here or is reading the thread really thinks that the PR is "Private". If it's not locked it's not private, and I wish we could go back to the days when we didn't have locks on our doors, and I really wouldn't want to see a forum on the FL locked. It makes it sleazy somehow. Third, both sides should respect the other and on a general forum or thread if your comments are not going down well, get back on topic or move to another table, whether requested or not. That's mature use of discretion.

Sorry, I sound like my Mum.....

Hi there - just peeping in here, but when you click on "New Posts" it does bring up which forum each specific thread is in.
