The Johnson's jacket is a very good deal for somebody.
I've seen and handled a jacket with this same leather (the 3.5oz Horween overdye) at 1.5 years of wear and the hand and patina was out of this world. Objectively, it's as good as Aero's FQHH and I personally liked it a helluva lot better.
It's not major surgery on this jacket. See the two side panels (one on each side under the arms?). On Alan's jackets, he can take those panels in a bit to snug up the fit from the chest down. Alternatively, if someone puts on weight and grows out of a jacket, he can give you extra room by...
Right here with you.
It's a poor reference point to assume going untucked means a giant shirt-tail hanging down and covering the entire arse. Sure, you can dig up a photo of someone who looks like Lebowski in a leather jacket and conclude "see, everyone always needs to tuck." In reality, it's...
Sloan, the shell on that A2 looks amazing. And the knits look good as well. Seems to me the only variable is fit - and that's always a question. Nice score.
I've taken three eBay risks on leather jackets and, amazingly, each one has worked out fantastic. In two of the cases it involved...
I love the leather, esp. the color, and the jacket looks very nice with the extra length. The stock JL m200 is normally a really short jacket.
I'm going to go against the majority and agree with you that the jacket looks a bit roomy. The m200 is supposed to be a fairly snug fit and even taking...
Awesome fit and jacket. What a beauty!
You hit the jackpot in being the same size as Wade. Takes a lot of unknowns out buying - you can pick and choose with confidence. You must have to lock up your credit cards every time you visit the Thurston Bros. thread:)
I live a few blocks from Johnson Leathers so they're going to do the re-lining. I just need a few ideas to bring in with me when I go look fabric options. Aero's cotton berry is a great suggestions. Thx!
Here's my pair of Nick's station boots. They're an old pair of boots made long before they started offering some of their newer specialty leathers. These feature their old default workhorse leather. I love 'em.

There is nothing wrong with someone discovering a great hobby later in life. Riding is a fantastic past-time. Trying something new in your late 30s to 50s does not a mid-life crisis make.
My parents are essentially blue-collar suburbanites who started riding in their 50s when their kids were...
Hi ~
I'm looking for an Enfield in size 38 or 40 made from their competition weight cowhide. I'll consider a jacket in any condition.
If you have an Enfield to run by me, send me a message with a brief description and the price.
Cheers!

This jacket is missing the maker's label but has an old label that reads 'western ranch-hide' - whatever that means.
I love the color, the leather, and the fit. I need to get it re-lined (the current coarse red lining is unbearable) - any suggestions for nice...
More stylish than their previous longer jackets. Everything from the collar shape to the cuffs to the belt and rear panels just looks nicer.
I always felt the Veste de Rallye looked really good on bigger guys - and only big guys - where the sheer bulk of boxy leather made it's own statement...
