I think the two-tone is fantastic and will look great down the road as it "brightens down."
The blanket lining doesn't hold much appeal. Those stripes are too loud against the bold shell - I'd prefer a solid color.
Generally speaking, while I know there is a place for blanket and alpalca...
Great jacket and what a cool find. I love looking at old jackets from the heyday.
Perfectos just scream attitude no matter what a person does or doesn't wear with it. I'm too straight and narrow for the style - I have one in the wings that stays in the wings. But I do appreciate a nice old...
The creases in the front of schitzo's jacket are more extreme that the one shown by Sloane and they do look strange.
Speaking for myself, it has nothing to do with being guarded, it just didn't seem worth worrying about since you mentioned they aren't visible when you wear the jacket and...
The jacket looks awesome, schitz. The fit and loss of length notwithstanding, it's a beauty.
FWIW, I have creases like the ones you show on the rear of you herc on a few of my own jackets - a Vanson Enfield and on a Johnson Leathers cafe racer. I never paid attention to how or if they affect...
I guess it's my turn to say "Really?"
I'm not commenting on the fact that Aero responded, but on how they responded. You seriously can't envision a better way for a company representative to present their side? Did I say anything about offering a jacket re-make?
I'm not going to go...
tmitchell, where can I watch those videos?
And handymike, any chance of seeing pics of the jacket you mention above? I also have a belted jacket, same length of 26.5, that I was thinking of doing the same exact thing with - having the belt converted to side adjusters. Would love to see how...
Of course different body types will find them fitting differently, but in general I consider most of the stock models quite fitted. I'm true to size in the m-200 and n-200. They are athletically cut; if you have an athletic 'V' build then maybe you could size down but if your build is 'average'...
After considering all the anecdotal evidence in this thread, I'm going to conclude that quality leather is a beautiful organic material that behaves differently - sometimes shrinking in places, sometimes stretching, sometimes remaining quite stable - depending on numerous variables too complex...
Blackadder is right, it's the Langlitz Cascade. The front is standard - not sure if there are any mods to the back as I only have this pic to go by. Typical mods on the back would be a few pinstripes. Imo, the Cascade is one of the nicest jackets around.
Those all sound like excellent reasons for you to tuck in your shirt. If those are your worries and concerns, then it's the right move for you. Not always for me.
I don't remember reading anyone who doesn't tuck stating that the reason is they are too 'lazy'.
I second the observation...
This makes sense and in fairness to AL it's entirely possible this happened after packing. That first pic looks like the zip was pressed into the leather with great force - something unusual may have happened to the package. People should give AL a chance to respond and make good before piling on.
It's more than that. It's also a sentimental thing (which flirts with being irrational but doesn't mean I'm a slave to reputation). I'm well aware that many of these countries have skilled artisans that can and do produce jackets every bit as good as some of the best western makers. I also...
I should have specified leather garments. Bespoke suits in parts of Asia are top-notch and China sets the standard for silk, but neither of those apply to my wardrobe.
