Does any detergent that gentle, no harsh chemicals, dye free, scent free, hypoallergenic, etc… fine for even virgin wool. Don’t plan on washing often just when necessary.

I have dreft and All clear and free.

I have used Woolite for quite some time with no ill effects.
Be sure to use you machine's "Gentle" cycle, or maybe even better - hand wash it.
Hang it to dry, I would not recommend using a clothes dryer - likely will shrink.

Nah no dryer, even it it says you can, especially not virgin wool no blend. Always wash by hand. Size is tough to come by and even still hand wash air dry.

I use winni’s at the moment, but I have also used woolite, nuncas and other no brand made in italy. Never had an issue.

for my most quality wool indument I hand wash them, then To dry them I lay them flat and stop them with needles to maintain the correct size and avoid shrinkage. This work very well with all my hand made wool sweater (all made with natural, hand-dyed, hand made yarn… merino, baby alpaca, cachemire, silk…).

I'll be 100% honest, I rarely wear my Filson Wool shirt and jacket, primarily for this reason, as well as I itch a lot with un-lined wool garments. Even with a T-shirt on, I still itch.

I also have itching problems with some wool…but with high quality 100% merino, or blend with merino/cachemire/silk or also top quality baby alpaca i can wear it also in direct contact with me skin…super soft and comfortable.

The problem is that most of the product are poor in wool quality

Depends on what wool/what kind of wool. Alpaca is warmer. Lambs wool is a softer fleece.

Yes shure, i only say that that type of wool are super soft and super comfortable.

Take in mind that alpaca and baby-alpaca are completely different and baby-alpaca are way more soft and fluffy…even more than every lambs wool, at least mine. My baby-alpaca sweater is the most soft and comfy material that i ever tryed.

And i have a sweater in a blend of merino and other generic lamb wool that i can wear only 1/2 hours because is too itching. But i can wear baby-alpaca al day also with nothing underneath :)

well the baby-alpaca come also from adults alpaca, not from new born one (sorry i don't know in english the name of the new born alpaca :D ). It is simply the inner and thinnest part of the hair of an adult alpaca. It's the most expensive e most quality wool that can be taken from an alpaca. It's called baby-alpaca because of its extreme thinness.

the yarn is also very thin and not so easy to work with, due to the thinness of the individual hairs. You have to try it! ;)
