We were batting around the idea of adoption just the other night - and thinking that a 45-year old Aussie would be just the ticket to lively up the home.
Would you settle for a Driza-bone?
I still wear and enjoy a J. Crew 'Turner' jacket that I found for $150 or so a few years ago. It's sort of a Belstaff-inspired 4-pocket with billows pockets. Probably sounds atrocious but I quite like it. I think it retailed for stupid amounts of money that no one should pay for a jacket made in...
I thought about this, and another scenario: me having to sell one of my jackets to afford a new one for her ;(
I have a work-around that I call the one-and-done. From now until she's 18, when she lobbies for anything expensive, I'll just say "What you want...I already bought you a Langlitz!"
Haha! I considered opening a mock-thread asking for fit opinions, with her providing context with respect to layering and usage (both on and off the bike), all while second guessing the rear yoke (too masculine?) and hemming and hawing about the jacket / sleeve length while praising the quality...
It's tempting to accrue concentrated knowledge and experience around something specific and then start looking down our noses at those who know less or nothing about that particular slice of life.
Picture a grammarian exasperated by all of the pronoun errors and misplaced modifiers that appear...
This.
I love the lounge, and love leather. But I don't pretend that the amount of time and money that most loungers, myself included, have spent on researching, sizing, and purchasing leather jackets is an unqualified virtue or a purchasing model suitable to everyone.
I think we all know why...
With no implied preference whatsoever of kudu over goat, member Don Tomaso's kudu pioneer looks amazing. It can be seen at the end of this thread for comparison:

The goat looks very nice as well. It seems to have...
So nice.
I've admired the Pioneer since Aero first introduced it a 2-3 years back (in Kudu leather if memory serves). It has a lot going on, yet manages to look simple, elegant, and balanced. Would love to see more photos of people wearing it.
There may be a simple explanation, but the bidding history above (and others like it) puzzles me. The bidder o***u came in at $300, then incrementally increased his own bid five times in a row in the last two minutes of the auction without competitive prompting from another bidder. Does that...
Shoulders and chest look good. But even allowing that the style of this jacket tends to run on the short side - that fit plainly looks too short (sleeves and length). If I saw you on the street, my initial impression would be that you'd long outgrown a nice jacket. That would be fine, to my...
Tell me about it - I don't even have a Langlitz.
She'll likely get 9 to 18 months (tops) wear out of this thing. Afterwards, we have plenty of young contenders in our friend and family group to inherit the jacket. Or, I'll just keep it. It sure beats bronzed baby shoes ;)
