Wow, great and timely info from John.
Just to revisit the sun question, I believe heavy/intense sun exposure to most leathers over long periods of time will tend to dry them out and can lead to color loss (the last is not necessarily bad).
BUT, just a few days or even a week of sun has never...
Yeah, both those jackets look great on you. I like the way your PLU-3 fits; the extra length is perfect and since you're slender, it allows for what looks like a super comfortable fit without looking at all baggy. Very nice.
Also, paypal just recently increased to 180 days (6 months) the timeframe when a buyer can open a dispute (I remember reading a policy update about it). He is still well within that window.
At four months, I think the 'benefit of the doubt' window has long expired - and Betron's advice seems the soundest course of action at this point.
Personally, I would make one more attempt to reach out to the vendor. I would present them with your timeline, and in a respectful and...
Morrison is indeed pleased with his HH Enfield acquisition - and prepared to post in any old thread to publish that fact :)
All in good fun, of course. Glad someone is enjoying their new jacket.
I think this jacket linked to earlier looks fantastic and very wearable. Can't see the back but I love everything that I can see, esp. the collar, the cut in front, the color and finish of the leather, and the way the bottom sort of fades away. I'm pretty conservative but I would wear this in a...
Fanch, I like that pioneer.
Seb - It would never occur to me to use goat on a cafe racer, yet it makes so much sense. Is that yours? It looks like the zip starts higher than JL's stock n-200.
Surreal as in strange, uncanny, dreamlike, bizarre.
Paradoxical and upsetting also fit. It's not exactly news on the lounge, but the whole 'chasing the dragon' nature of A2 ownership seems well represented by the mysterious months between the writing of that review and the decision to sell on...
It's totally surreal to read that raving review, look at the photos, and then see that you're selling it 11 months later.
I still haven't cut my teeth on A-2s and this is why.
Doesn't surprise me. I would guess 90% of Ayn Rand fans have always been guys as well.
I'm not a Rush fan for per se, but I think it's great that they chose a quality maker to collab with for fans. They could have just thrown some Rush branding on a mall jacket.
Rush is one of those bands who still 'quietly' enjoy legions of followers - and many people cite them as major influences (not just musicians) who you might not expect to be Rush fans. Neil Peart's drumming attracts it's own fandom. And Ayn Rand acolytes find their way to the early music - and...
The fit of the top jacket looks great, folds and all. If there were no folds present in that upright position, the wearer would not be able to reach forward with their hands without a lot of pulling.
Great story, and a good suggestion about the Pirsig book.
It sounds like your daughter had an amazing jacket. Does she still have it? Would love to see it - if you have any old pics post them up.
