Has seemed like a long, long wait however, just had a mail from Chloe @ Aero asking me to confirm the measurements. Once I have sent confirmation the jackets will be forwarded to production.
She said they cannot give a precise date when they'll be done so have asked for an approximate one...
I was fortunate enough to be able to visit Aero and try one on.
All my trousers, chinos and jeans are high waisted and wide legged and the additional inch to the length meant it covered my belt when I leant forward.
I will do.
On the Windward I stayed with the alpaca lining and storm cuffs but added an inch to the length and added an Irvine collar, making it more of a Winter jacket.
Now patiently (sort of) waiting for 2 AeroLeather jackets..
1 x Sheene in tobacco badalassi with a few modifications and 1 x Windward in brown FQHH also with a few modifications.
14 to 16 week wait!
At last, the day of my visit to Aero arrived!
The drive was in the region of 6.5 hrs so travelled up to just North of Newcastle last night (for the benefit of UK residents), stayed overnight and arrived at Aero at 0930 this morning.
What a place! The welcome was great and the way they look...
Less than 2 weeks to go until I get up to Aero!
The Sheene is quite firmly nailed on I think, just need to see, feel and try on to decide on the leather, I like the look of the tobacco badalassi although definitely going up open-minded and will decide on the day.
Aero sent me a couple of...
This thread makes me smile, simply as it makes me think back to early this year when I bought my first ever pair of raw denim jeans.
I bought myself a pair of RMC 14oz denim wide cut, high waisted jeans. To be honest 14oz meant absolutely nothing to me, I just liked the cut.
Anyhow they arrived...
Well, I'm sure I'm not the first to go down this route however, how many of us know what we want then change our minds somewhere along the way.
New(ish) member here so learning fast!
On Aero's IG page the is a pic of a natural HH 'modified cafe racer' as they've called it, have spoken to them...
Well one thing I have learnt is that it's more the tanning process than the leather.
I'd always assumed that steer would be softer and a bit more 'floppy' but I now know better. Some of the jacket photos on here are outstanding. Personally I prefer the feel of a heavier weight jacket and the...
Hi and many thanks for your reply, very helpful.
The 'suit of armour' comment meant I don't want to end up with a jacket that doesn't have any give in it. On the same hand I don't want one that hangs off me like a pair of cheap curtains :)
It's clear I'm new to this end of the market when it...
Off up to Aero in a few weeks to get measured etc and have been researching here re leather differences. Despite looking and looking I can't really find an answer that would make me jump one way or the other.
Looking at a Hudson and also a Windward jacket. The Windward would be done with a...
Update time..
Spoke to a lady at Aero yesterday re booking a visit. Turns out the showroom isn't open until 1st June so, appt made and will be there then.
She asked me re sizing etc and suggested that ideally I go there and they can measure me so there aren't going to be any boo boos. Said it...
Mine is a Renault Clio V6...19 yrs old now and as mad as a bag of monkeys.
Apologies to those who know what they are but, for those that don't Renault built some for a one make race series in the mid 90's then had the madcap idea to make a wound down version for the road. Instead of rear seats...
