Now that's more my price...
Fantastic pick up for that price Jeff. Wish I'd seen it.
Don't be afraid to give ita stretch if it's snug - just make sure you use a vintage stretcher.
Felts will cope with a lot of heat and sweat Sam. Wearing Akubras all summer long is not uncommon here, especially in the country. Temperatures in an Aussie summer are quite often around the 100 degree F mark with humidity in the 90's. The hats cope fine. Generally, you'll see a mixture of felts...
Nice stingy S. Beagles. At $15 you certainly didn't get burned at all. I have a similar shaped Churchill with Cav edge which dates from the early 60's. I'd guess yours is a similar vintage.

Strewth! You're not seeing the face of the Virgin in your enchilada too are you?
I never could figure out why Mary hides in food products so much.
Must be hungry I guess.
But we digress...
Elvis, I'll need to pop into my local hatshop (Distinctive Accessories in the Anzac Square building, cnr Edward & Adelaide Sts, Brisbane), grab a stylemaster and a squatter, wrestle them into open crown while at the same time fighting off the furious store manager (very helpful chap is Keith)...
