I agree that the choices were pretty limited. I also interpreted some of the questions in my own way; I dress fashionably for 1939!
No dating weaknesses, TheKitschGoth? Wow!
That's so nice to hear Vintage Betty!
My vintage style tortiseshell glasses have been slipping down my nose most annoyingly lately, so yesterday I stopped at my local spectacle shop. Even though I didn't purchase my glasses from that shop the gentleman spent about 15 minutes reshaping the...
:offtopic: I love them too, they have their own personalities so to speak. The huge, grand ones, the local ones, little family plots by the side of old country roads. I wish modern gravestones were as interesting as the old ones.
This wasn't on ebay and it's sold ($450; it's adorable but that seems pretty high to me). I love the print, the novelty buttons, the pickstitching--so cute. This is another one that I'd like to copy eventually.
I'm not usually into them but that bowling dress is adorable.
I think both of these items would have been a tad too small for me but I mourn anyway.
Look at that beading! Went for over $160; worth it but too rich for my blood right now.
There's no way the bottoms would...
Curses! I would love to go to this--one of my favorite films and I've never seen it on the big screen. Falconetti has the most amazing face. If anyone goes please report in.
I have the same problem--I didn't use liquid eyeliner for years because it looked so terrible on my left eye!
I use my left hand to pull my eyelid slightly taut then, holding the applicator in my right hand so my pinky is resting on my cheekbone and my palm is facing my face I draw the line...
I wore L'Oreal's Buttoned Up Red again last night--it's hands down my favorite, sort of a deep, velvety red that really stays on nicely. But, of course!, it was a special edition color done for the Black Dahlia movie. It's available on ebay and I'm thinking of buying a couple more since I love...
Very clever making the faux bang Nikki--that color match is perfection. Echoing everyone else on the fabulousity of your hair--agh, don't cut it (not much anyway)!
Everytime I see your pictures I think of Vivien Leigh/Scarlett O'Hara-that set of you in the black dress is to die for. Brava!
I asked an elderly friend about the train cases and she said she remembered pots for cold cream, lotion and foundation, so possibly these?
Also, can you post pictures? I'd love to see photos of your find!
Seconded! I "budget" at least half a day for the V&A when I'm in London. Their permanent collection never gets old and it's such a wonderful quirky museum.
