Oooh thanks kamikat - I'm going nuts experimenting with my hotsticks and remmington heated rollers this weekend - I am skint and it's the easter bank holiday here in the UK (4 days off work - yippee!) so I'm a bit bored... nothing to do but experiment with my hair! Hey cherry lips, thank you! No rolls at all, just sides pinned up and forwards and then my fringe curled and waved back over the top. I'm not much cop at rolls and always lose patience, plus my hair is completely different on each side of my head (different thicknes and texture and curliness) so...- MissHannah

Hotsticks styling question
Well I wind all the way to the scalp but when I secure the stick it drops a few 'rolls' down on most of them, but not all and I can't work out why! I'm going to have a go at Kitty's tip though and see if that helps. Any further advice would be welcome though - clearly you are the Mistress of...- MissHannah

What and how to do with the sides of hair
My quick fix suggestion is to take the sides and brush them back and upwards before pulling them up (and forward a bit) and pinning behind the front section (fringe/bangs if you have them) of your hair. A bit of height in the front section of your hair will hide the bobby pins/kirby grips from...- MissHannah

I guess, judging from the posts from other british members, that the british are less inclined to be so forthcoming with their comments! I get a lot of lingering (and sometimes confused!) looks from the older generation but rarely get any actual conversation. A bloke in his 50's did walk past me...- MissHannah

I'm just trying out my hotsticks for the first time and it's a struggle! It's difficult to get any uniformity as some of the sections hold close to the scalp and some drop down an inch or two after I secure them. Also, do you roll under or over? Haven't tried them yet - going to have a go tonight and I'm embarrassingly excited! That's good news if they are super-hot - should work really well on my stubborn hair! My hair is ALWAYS heat damaged - I used GHDs for years which just wreck hair like nothing else, so I figure heated rollers/hot...- MissHannah
