Over the years I have had Olive Oyl, Betty Boo (not Boop), the woman from Deelite, the Cheeky Girls (I know!) and once, when I was wearing a Rosie scarf, Hilda Ogden!! (Non-brits google it!)
I'm not hugely interested in Dita either - I've read her book and I don't think she has anything of...
Oh so many things...
High waisted trousers, a 40's suit, a couple of 50's swing coats, a ton of 50's full skirts. Mostly stuff that i thought I would never wear in public because I was living down in Devon and would get heckled! I had a brutal clear out before I moved to London as well. Since...
The jacket is vintage (part of a suit) but the dress is a repro from the Bettie Page range:

Thank you everybody! I was having a lovely day and I like that I can see I'm happy in the photo - I'm normally so posey and snooty looking!
I got paid and had a little spree...

Woohoo - lookin' good Dolly! Loving the red (of course!).
Everyone is looking superhot this week - I need help with updo's so keep your pics coming of the backs of all your heads!
I bought a pair of the seconds and I couldn't find any flaws at all! I didn't personally like the cut of them so returned them but in terms of quality you can't go wrong. They are really friendly and helpful as well so if you have any questions just email or call and I'm sure they'd tell you...
I love Kim Novak's hair - especially in Pal Joey - it's sort of grey blonde and the french twist she wears is so small and neat that I suspect it's actually short hair just combed in to look like a pleat.
If you've got a bit more to spend (£100 upwards) then try the Antique Clothing Shop, 282 Portobello Road - it's pure bliss. And if it's a saturday there's the vintage clothes market right next to it. There's another shop opposite that I can't remember the name of too.
I know - I give myself far too hard a time over tiny little details that no-one else gives a crap about! I'm really self-conscious about my low hairline and flat head but i doubt anyone else would give two hoots or even notice! We live in funny little fantasy worlds where everybody is obsessing...
You know what's funny? I don't hear anybody saying "oh trousers always fit me just fine"! We're all struggling with too short or too long. There just aren't enough size variations in clothing to accommodate all the wondrous and varied female shapes.
Well, that is rather encouraging! I'll give it another shot. Usually, even with pinning it slips a bit and I get a load of fuzzy hair sticking out the bottom, but I'll give it my best :)
Haha! I know what you mean, I find myself secretly sizing women up as they walk towards me down the street and if they are taller when they pass me I get miffed!!
