Garbage plate! Lol, I remember the "chicken-wing wars" back in the 1980s between fans of Sal's and fans of Country Sweet. I was on the CS side! I was into vintage film noir wear then. I wanted to wear fedoras but had no guidance. I just didn't look very hard (lack of courage!). So I got a...
Charlie, thanks for the Pendleton info. I hope I can find some lined ones like shirt-jacs. I'm allergic to wool against the skin...

I agree about Eric's hat!
Alan, I also agree about the European sweat bands (not to mention liners!). Elegant, old-world, with wonderful artistic and typographical features. And the hat itself reminds me of one of Jim Steranko's most famous illustrations - of ... The Shadow!
Charlie, that is a sharp look! I've gotta get me some old-skool plaid shirts!
Javier, I used to live in "Rochester" New York for grad school. I wonder what's the hat connection.... When I first moved there, the older part of the city was still in use - old department stores and...
i just purchased a silverbelly Stratoliner from J.J.'s that came open crown. The felt, though not up to vintage standards, is significantly better than the felt on the current Open Road offerings.

Don't know about the state of the business, but last week was the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. They might have been out. Have you tried calling this week?

Lotsahats, superb Disney!
GD, that Silver Label is one of my favorites of yours. Great noir lines. I bet the felt is silky-smooth...
David, is that a regular cattleman's crease? Goes nicely with the jacket.
Strapped, I like the overall proportions. It reminds me of my Cavanagh, perhaps my...
I have something for a bit later this eve.....
I didn't get to it till today. One of the best caps I've seen "retail." I like it a lot better than the Hanna "Gatsby." More brim, more quality. This is the "Tully" by Jonathan Richards. Irish tweed, made in the emerald isle. Not crazy about...
I used to wear street-wear Flagg Bros. Homburgs back in the early 70s in the spirit of the mafia and Blaxploitation films. But I don't yet have one in this go-round!

It's a JJ's exclusive they said. At least for a while. The Strat even has the little airline pin on the bow. More later!
Yours goes great with the "Wayfarer" shape of those shades!

Amazing hats all! Speaking of Stratoliners, this one just came out from Stetson. A new model, an open-crown silverbelly Stratoliner. Way softer than current Open Roads. More pictures in the new hat thread later. I'm looking for a vintage, but I couldn't resist. Sorry about the washed-out...
