RHT stocking any one?
I really do feel sorry for ladies in the 60's as in my view the RTH stocking are not very nice to wear, compared to 50's ff seamed.
I know it is like 10 years outside the time line here but real vintage ff stocking are very expensive for every day wear now and I know...
I like the polka dots idea, navy sound interesting too I never really worn navy.
I have worn the jacket with a black shift dress and purple tights as a modern style and also with a short dark grey skirt.

It maybe easier than you think on the delicate areas as you more aware in a way what could happen.
I think you just got to give it a go and see
You could practice on some fruit or veg first .
I think the answer might be no, the young barbers who do my hair do use one for the hairs on then back, they sharpen it before each customer and they just only a few strokes , they also hold the skin tight.
Have you tried yet on the whole leg?
To be hounest it's going to be down to practice...
Oh I know that too well, by the way both my sisters are minimalist one more than the other I wonder if there some sort of connection then?
Sorry for going off topic.
I have this original 40's jacket which is a great fit on me and fast becoming a favourite item of mine, I am not strong on the 40's styles!
I not sure how or what to wear it with in a true 40's way.
I have tried it with a couple of black skirts just below the knee and the other just on the...

I agree HepKitty
You do not actually have to say any thing to them, just make eye contact with them and keep eye contact as long as possible ( not so you fall over or walk into some thing) and that will say every thing to them.

" Some of the stuff is not in good condition- not sellable -but the thought of it as landfill isn't nice. "
Too true and land fill isn't a nice way to go apart from not been too green

Some of you may remember this outfit from my thread several months ago, this is a photo taken by a young professional fashion photographer in a studio and it's her take on the look. (top photo)
The shoes are new ( I cannot find vintage shoes in my size) ever thing else you see was made...
I agree, she has in my view also a good sense of style and also knows when to wear a certain style and when not too. I also hope she does not leave the boots and opaque tights out of her wardrobe now for good now.
My Grandmother always had a problem with people kissing on TV and always turned her head way and would not look if there was a bed room scene in a film then she make a noise with her tong in disapproval.
Talking about different social attitudes in the 40's, my mother was punished at school...
If you wanted to wear sheer seamed nylons then there is a trick which you can use, which apart from myself I know a few models use and that's to wear a pair of sheer 10 Denier or less tights( panyhose) under the stockings
These are what I will be using for the same reason soon Sheer 10 denier...

Slips do not get the same attention as corset/girdles and of course stocking on fashion history sites, reading they are just as important to a lady.
:eusa_doh:
I gave up on slips as they all seamed to big if I wear a size 18 dress then I think I should have a size 18 slip also but they just...
