Yes, the Fed IV does have a wire reed. My brown one has a couple of small kinks and I've considered removing it, but it seems to be a common issue for hard wearing Fed IV owners on COW.
It's about that time of year where everyone is starting to raise prices for the holidays. Gone are the days of deals at the holidays as even the small businessman/woman needs to get gifts for their families.
I used to run a dry cleaning operation, so I can agree with many here. However, bleach will typically only yellow synthetic fabrics, and not all at that. Here's what I would do, take an empty dropper bottle, put about 10 percent bleach and 90 percent water in it. Find a part of the shirt...
My wife has luckily stayed positive about my hat obsession, although she did say that she needed me to admit I have a problem before I could buy another. So I did, and she let me...
I don't think there's "enough" hats unless you have one in every color, for every style you think you'll need...
It all really depends on where you're from, it seems. Most who live in, or are from, England, would say jumper, and most who live in, or are from, the US would say sweater. Pullover seems to be a more recent, commercial term used by manufacturers... a way to avoid saying sweatshirt. I could...
I'm getting whites (not grey, but actually stark white) and have thought about what to do when the time comes when I have more. Most of my facial hair is white already, so when that goes completely, I'm likely just going to bleach everything on my head to as close to white as possible. I've...
I like pockets for daily wear. The only shirts I have without pockets are more of the standard "informal" and "formal" wear dress. I'll wear those only for evenings out or special events. Otherwise, pockets are a must since I always seem to have more to carry than I have pockets for (altoids...
I'll agree with that, it's holiday season, and auctions aren't the best way to get a deal when a lot of people are after the same thing. It's almost like buying a boat... this is actually a really good time of year to get a great deal on a used boat; not much competition, and if someone really...
And I've posted this in response to the $600 Whippet... I got a much nicer looking one for $41 on ebay. Right place, right time. You never know which way those things are going to go. I used to deal in antique books, and it was amazing how one week a first edition of any Hemingway could go...
Just FYI, the only real point to the dark vs light brushes is to simply use a different brush so that dark hair fibers from one hat don't get transferred to a light hat.
As always, great pics Al! I loved Chicago, and although my wife doesn't think we'll be back anytime soon, I feel differently. We were there during the hottest week this summer and I feel the need to be there when it's a tad cooler.
And I'm overly happy with my $41 whippet... near mint... I can't imagine someone spending so much on one when you could easily get a better version custom made... and brand new...
