    Falcon Park Hattery

Personally, I'm of the opinion that I can be patient for great quality at a great price. I've got 2 orders in with him now and plan on ordering at least one more sometime next year. I don't have any of his hats yet, but with all the great pics I've seen, I know I'll be with you having a...

How does one know when a hat should be professionally cleaned & re-blocked?

That's almost entirely up to you. If you see signs of shrinkage or otherwise, a reblock could be in order unless you think it looks better that way. If you want to reblock every year, that's fine too, just keep in mind that with a reblock, there is some pouncing involved. When a felt hat is...

"Kitten Finish" Resistol fedora, Olive, 7

I would love to pick this one up, although right now isn't the best time for me, personally. If it's available in January (and I'm sure you want to get it sold now) then I will more than likely jump on it.

Ask a question, get an answer

It also seems to depend on the felt. I've found that vintage felts are easier to shape than modern, thicker ones. I've used plain water from a spray bottle on all, since I'm lazy, but found that modern felts require quite a bit more to hold their shape.

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

I want one of those VS Dove w/ 22L charcoal. Art, do you still carry the ribbon you used with that one? I recall reading on your site that you have limited runs partly due to the ribbon. Thanks! :D

    The perfect hat

Personally, the only way for one to know what they like is to try a couple of different styles. I thought I liked stingy brims and raw brims when I started wearing hats, I've also tried wider brims with binding and welted edges. After some work, I found the ideal dimensions, but things like...

Sad to be alone in my appreciation of another era

Not sure if I missed a post, but I hope you didn't think I was trying to do this. I was shooting for a "soldier on, we're with ya" sorta thing.

Sad to be alone in my appreciation of another era

My take on it all is this: we are who we are. Friends, real friends, understand that and are accepting. I go on each day doing what I do, and unfortunately I don't have anyone near me that has some of the same appreciation of things lost, but I still have other common ground for the...
