Feels like fancy dress.......

Not quite a 'show us what you've made', but... I recently started Simplicty 2123 from 1945- view 2 in royal blue gingham with solid royal blue contrast on the shoulders and belt (and pockets, maybe, I'm debating). Has anyone else tried it? I am so happy right now :D I flat pincurled my hair for the first time in ages whilst watching Goodfellas last night (:D), purely because I couldn't be bothered to go and fetch my rollers and a mirror, and the results are not just great, but have miraculously given me the hairstyle I've been... -

How 1950s Housewives Kept Slim.
Just a trivial point, but whilst that bust measurement may be close to a size 12, that waist and hip measurement is teeny-tiny. I was a UK size 6 (a while back, those days are long gone ;)) and my waist was 24-5 inches. Seems like the wasp waist was not entirely down to engineering...!- Frenchy56

Thanks for the responses! and Sheeplady, it's not that weird a suggestion! I was thinking that clips would be the way to go- they'd hold firmly, but temporarily, and wouldn't damage the sweater or the collar. So thanks for confirming! I was going to buy some small plain metal alligator clips...- Frenchy56

Summertime Hair?
I know how you feel! Not just cause of warmer weather, but because my hair is at that awkward inbetween stage where nothing looks good. Last November I had all my hair chopped off to just longer than a pixie, and ever since then I've been fighting the urge to get it cut short again! Only trouble... -

You're welcome :) I often have to force myself to make these kind of decisions! Do post again once you've had it taken in! I'm not experienced enough in alterations to really diagnose (and without seeing the dress), but if you say the side seams are alright, then I don't think the bust has...- Frenchy56

Fabulous dress! :) In my opinion- and echoing the previous poster - you should ask yourself if you are ever going to *happily* wear it as is. If the answer is no, then you have nothing to lose by having it altered. And I'm guessing that whoever you take it to will have you try it on and pin...- Frenchy56

I'm continually disgruntled at how misleading pattern envelopes can be... it says on the back that pleats create the cowl neckline, yet lo and behold, get to step 8 in the instructions and you need these weights!
