I do understand, I had the same jacket in size 44 and had the same problem in the shoulder area but in my case it was more noticiable.
For what its worth I had exactly the same experience - a size 44 which looked great, the measuremnts fit, but was very uncomfortable around the shoulders so I moved it on

I wonder if the problem is in the cut of the jacket or in the physique?
I think the jacket is built for a Japanese build, obviously generalizing but more square shouldered and tubular body shape. I have extremely sloped and forward / rounded shoulders and a v-shape body. It's just the wrong combination.

I think if you have normal shoulders without the forward rounding, you will fit in this very well. FWIW, I usually go bespoke on suits or do a very Italian-style soft shoulder due to my sloped / forward shoulders... buying off the rack suits is near impossible.

Wear it for a month straight and then decide. My mulholland took a long, long time for the leather to finally give up and conform to my body. It felt a little awkward and uncomfortable but I wore it for a couple long road trips zipped up and it really broke into my body. I think leather tightens up if it isn’t worn for a long time and if I pull my mulholland out after it being in the closet for a season I have to wear it for like half a day in the sun for the leather to soften back up and for it to Become a second skin again. I dont think mine fits any better then yours and its one of my favorites jackets of all time. It’s really comfy, sexy as hell looking, huge one piece back of Shinki is incredible. Give it a chance….

Looks to me that theJacket hasn’t broken In fully.
I have a Mulholland 40 in a beautiful red/brown. Unfortunately I have put on weight so it no longer fits. They take a while to break in and drape to your body.

Well for what it's worth, I agree with you... this jacket is not for you. The shoulder issue you're concerned with seemed pretty apparent, at least to me, especially in the later pics. It seems this jacket is a hard one to fit properly. I'm tempted to give it a go, but I'm a bit scared... I have the shoulders for it, but I'm also a V-shape like you, so I worry about the stomach area being a bit loose. I wear my jackets open like 99% of the time as well, so too-large stomach areas can be very pronounced... hmmm... how big is the hem?

All, while I do appreciate people looking out for me and saying give it some time with the fit, respectfully that's not what this thread is about. I've already decided to sell the jacket and given detailed explanations for why I think the fit is not right, even with acknowledging that in certain photos it looks fine.

But just to summarize, the shoulder fit is totally wrong for my forward and sloped shoulders, causing ugly looking wrinkling when viewed from the side. My four Himel Bros jackets, which are obviously custom to me, do not have this problem and other jackets such as Aero I have chosen the cuts which accommodate this flaw in my body. Furthermore, I do work out and have a bit of a v-shape, and this jacket fits tight across my chest and very uncomfortably tight around my arms. It does fit looser around my stomach - I am about a drop 8" for reference. This is despite a chest measurement that is bigger than a Rainbow Country jacket I own which still feels much more comfortable... it is the cut of the jacket that is the problem with me in particular.

I will say it again: I think the jacket is built for a Japanese build, obviously generalizing but more square shouldered and tubular body shape. I have extremely sloped and forward / rounded shoulders and a v-shape body. It's just the wrong combination. This jacket does not work for me, and it never will. I have ~20 leather jackets and so I at least somewhat know what I'm doing / what I'm looking for. There is an opportunity cost to this jacket as well, if I'm wearing this and trying to somehow get it to work, I'm not wearing one of my other ones which I already love the fit on and will be lifetime jackets to break-in and build a lot of great development.

So to be clear, this thread is about selling the jacket. Would be great if we stay on topic, and if anyone knows anyone else looking for this jacket please refer them here. Again, I do appreciate the fit opinions, but this is what's best for me.

Cheers and thank you.

Yep, only you can really know what works for you.

Unfortunately, I think I'd be in a similar situation to you with this. Like I said, the shoulders would most likely work for me, but I think the waist would be blousy. The tight arms don't sound good for me either. It's a beautiful jacket, though.

I do have a buddy with the "prototypical" Japanese shape... being that he is, in fact, Japanese, ha ha. He may still be looking for something. I'll link him this page. GLWS!
