Lost Worlds Leather Pea / Shearling Collar

I've shortened the sleeve length a hair and they turned out perfectly.

I've had internal knit cuffs installed and they turned out perfectly.

I can't quite get it out of my head that this jacket would look even cooler w/ a roughly 1" thick shearling collar.

...but I've done a bunch of things that seemed much better inside my head than they were once they got out.

Anybody tried something similar? Thoughts?

I always fancied something along those lines for that Manfred von Richthofen vibe. Only think to think about is when you want to wear it. I once had both an Aero A2 and Aero AN6552 in the same goathide. The USN jacket was surprisingly warmer, which I believe to have been a result of the combination of the liner (a non-breathable rayon as opposed to the A2's cotton) and the mouton collar (absent on the A2, of course). But with a peacoat type you're likely looking at a Winter coat anyhow, so.... yeah, have at it. A mouton collar needs a little more care than a plain leather one - it's not wipe-clean, and you have to be more careful about moths, but imo it's worth it if you want a real stand-out, statement piece.
