Alexander - it looks good. I'm not a leather band wearer, but I can see me getting one and, swapping it for a ribbon...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Perry - you've got some great hats, but I think that Victor is my favourite - great proportions and colour. Ebonysw45 - the beret looks right at home in the setting, and the view behind you is stunning. TJones - that conversion looks great. I can't wait for my stagecoach to fly over the...

    Akubra Overload

The size tag is the current one, as I think is the tip sticker. Still, with a current one costing $90+ USD before you add on on overseas shipping costs you won't have been robbed if it's as new.

Gargs - do you have a photo of the label. The tip stickers on current unlined Akubras are black and white, and not exactly modern looking.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

The full G A Dunn & Co name disappeared in the late 50's. I'm 90% certain your bowler is no older than 40's from the combination of sweat and liner, but in terms of construction there's little difference in quality between the 30's and 50's hats

Looks in great condition. They're difficult to date, but it's probably late 40's possibly early 50's from the logo.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Ole - great hat and photo! Enjoy your trip. How many hats can you smuggle back in your luggage? Roger - nice Stetson. Reggie - looks good with the wider ribbon. I think I'd want the same colour brim binding as the ribbon though.

Thanks folks. TJones - looks good. You inspired me, so I picked up a Stagecoach that was on it's third re-list, and will be giving it a go when it arrives - should give me a week or two to track down some ribbon... John - both looking very dapper!

How Many Fedoras did you see today?

A Sunday morning wander through Faversham (there was a small bric-a-brac market on) revealed two fur/wool felt fedoras, a leather Australian style hat, two tweed trilbies (both downbrim), three nice looking 8-panel caps, two flat caps, a good number of watch hats/wooly wonders and sadly one ugly...
