Steve - lovely sheen to that velour.
Robert - lovely felt and ribbon combination.
Banky - the strat looks good and I like what you've done with the brim.
Jeff - the derby looks good and I wouldn't have walked past that Barrister either.
David - hope you're enjoying the trip. The...
There's a Fibralon hat in a size 60 on ebay.de that keeps popping up in my searches - I don't know whether German hatters were more inventive than elsewhere.
Perfect for a carnival Joao :)

Linney (Tonak) today - nice felt, but the crown was too low and had way too much side taper with the original centre-dent - I've reshaped it into a diamond (front/back taper I don't mind as much) , and kept tweaking it to the point that I'm happy enough as an...
Dutchroo - I'll go with Alan's estimate. Black sweats weren't common until the late 50's and the brim suggests very late 50's through to mid 70's. If there's a label under the sweat it's worth posting a photo of that. Brad has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the Hatco brands and might be...
Baron - lovely longhair.
Perry - I really like the green ribbon.
Mike - good looking Strat, and I like that tie.
Charlie - I love that Moss felt, and the ribbon work is lovely.
Greg (I keep wanting to call you Ted ;) ) - that's a real beauty.
Alan - nice looking western. Is the band...
Charlie - I'd heard of dralon hats, and avoided looking at them, but seeing your photos that looks good, and much nicer than a polystraw in my opinion.
Alan & Perry - the wall is part of a tower on Canterbury's City Wall - Medieval, restored a fair bit over the years :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canterbury_city_walls It's handy in that I can rest the camera in one arrow slit to take a photo of the opposite side ;)
Thanks for all the...
Christys are a long established UK firm, and as well as producing hats under their own name also make bowlers (and probably other hats) for the old UK hat sellers of Lock & Co and Bates. Their hats are decent, but do try and avoid getting them wet - in my experience the felt is a little prone to...
Good luck with the interview results.
My preference for ribbon over leather probably stems from being English - the leather looks good, just no something I'd feel comfortable wearing over here. I can see it looking good with a 1" ribbon or skinnier.
