I have always had a dream of creating a 19th Century Marching Band, complete with uniforms like those in 'The Music Man', that only plays Souza marches. Wouldn't that be great in a parade in your town!?

This is a fascinating look at the final days of Sophie Scholl.

Paul Tibbets -R.I.P.
I hadn't seen it posted elsewhere, but by now many must know that Col. Paul Tibbets died today at the age of 92. He never regretted, nor criticized his role or his mission to end the war in the Pacific. Truly an American hero and patriot. Godspeed Mr. Tibbets!

..This 'plonker' makes enough to buy, maintain and fly one of these! Any "plonkin'" I can get involved in? I'd love to play dress up for his salary!

P.S. I would change my name to "plonker" if that's what it would take to afford that kind of...
I actually wore a pair of knickers during my last year in High School! That was 1972! I wore them with a great pair of WWI style lace-up boots. I was stylin' at age 17.

Oh yeh!.....
I've been there; after twelve years together, divorce, bankruptcy, depression - you know, the usual stuff!
I was fortunate as there were no children involved and it was a relatively easy split. I has been twelve years since then and I haven't seen or heard from her since...

I still have my neckerchief and my Camp Tanakeeta slide. I also carved a 'beer barrel' neckerchief slide that I saw in "Boys Life" magazine. I still have that little rascal.
I'll photograph that stuff and pass it along.

Sad, indeed!
I met Joey once at the Hughes Airwest ticket counter at LAX, back about 1979. He was so amiable and friendly. He even traded quips with us as he was leaving. I always had a good feeling about Joey Bishop, he just seemed genuine.
Godspeed, Mr. Bishop!

You lot have been great!...
I'm 5'11" and about 170. I've sat on this machine and I look great on it (or, it looks great under me!). I guess my attraction is to the asthetics of this bike. I've been a Sportster fan since the "Bronson" days. The best I could do back then was a series of...
Quite good, actually! A dramatization of course, but made me want to know more about the actual event. The lions are on display somewhere now, much smaller than their original size - they'd been cut to rugs after they were killed and only later stuffed for display. If I remember correctly...
Still pretty warm in Phoenix!
I'll probably wear my Stetson 'Gordon' for another month as it's still sweat ring weather at 95 degrees. The nights are sure getting cool though!

In reality the industry is headed for an about face. The airines of this century (after all the legacy carriers are allowed to go bankrupt!) is the newly devloped SATS system...
