Bailey Litefelt. I have a new Bailey Curtis model which I'd like to have the front brim turn down.

It's one of those crush & return to form hats & just bending it doesn't work. I've read elsewhere that even steam doesn't but Bailey's customer service said to try it. Before I do, any personal experience here with something better, heat from a hair dryer?

You need steam to soften the fibres and the stiffener applied at the factory. You will be able to move the brim.....just maybe not into the shape you desire. Is it fur felt or wool?

100% wool.
Use this hat to gauge your style and get accustomed to hat wearing. Then move up to a good fur felt hat. (Akubra is a great starter fur felt hat, rugged & hard wearing). The difference between fur and wool is huge. Wool is a great fibre for watch caps, Newsboy tweed caps, sweaters and suits......for hats it is a poor fibre.
