Offering this up for sale, I restored this radio a number of years ago, it's time for it to find a new home.
Electrically restored by Audio Imports LTD by the famous John Pomazi here in Arcadia. I restored the cabinet, replaced the grill cloth and cleaned the chassis and tube shields. The...
Well, happy New Year Hoover thread (to me it will always be my Hoover thread :p) and just wanted to say that my friend's model 700 most complete Hoover "Special" is roosting here at my place till I get a chance to ship it to him.
Also another friend of mine has won an auction for a model 700...
I can't wait till 2010 is outa here! Hope the door don't hit it on the way out!
There were some highlights in this past year however, it was a tough one and hope that the coming year will mean new adventures and some sort of stable income to support the home life.
I find the American Gangster to be rather fascinating. Bank robbers are a totally different breed of "Gangster" since their gangs were smaller and more intimate than career gangsters or mob families.
I'm of course a fan of the late 20s-mid 30s, the golden age of the bank robbers, Dillinger...
Yep, that's a vacuum type of coffee pot. They were popular earlier on and through the 50s and 60s, earlier ones were stove top styled and by the 40s they started to make electric types such as pictured.
One can find these on ebay, vintage ones work just fine, stove top or electric. Some times...
Modern coffee makers make good coffee, mostly for the fact they are automatic and designed to operate without watching a perking pot. After watching "This is Cofee" from the Coffee Instituted from about 1961, it tells how to make the perfect coffee in stove top, electric and other types of...
That is a beautiful set! I would say by the looks of it is earlier than the 40s but, I know a guy who could tell you not only what year but probably the month and tell you about the company! :D I'll have to ask him about this!
I am in no way a stove expert but, have seen many of them from time to time. I would say that stove is from the late 40s or early 50s, and yes, the drawer that slides out from the bottom is a broiler. These older stoves did have some storage space for pots and what not, (again, not an expert)...
Thank you for the complement! I saw it in an antique shop and watched it for a wile... till it came down in price and then it wasn't there! The store owner said the lady that ran that booth said that she took it home because no one bought it... So, I told her to call that dealer up and have it...
We'll that's fine, I offered the cloth cord rout because I have a line on it at a local ACE Hardware shop here that has it very reasonable. Also, it's in a copper tone color, I'll snap a shot of that for you if you're interested.
Here's some early photos of my bridge lamp before I replaced the...
Jish1969:
So, what kind of cord did you use for the replacement? I have a resource for (new) cloth covered power cord, if you would like to have some for your lamp, I could arrange to pick up some at a reasonable price. It's 100% safe to use and is the correct stuff for proper lamp...
Yeah, I'm really sorry about that Bobby, I've been pretty busy and haven't had the chance to dig those up and shoot them back... I'll look for them today and I should be able to shoot them back to you.
Happy Hoovering! :D

Now, that's what I'm talking about!!! Thanks Bobby for all the photos and info!!! ♫ If I had a million dollars, I know, just what I would do, I'd tie a string, around the deco, and bring all of it to here ♫ :D
Scissor brace should have a twill "Y" strap, with a small clip that attaches to the handle. The bag has three tabs on it but, I'm not sure what the middle tab was for on the bag, have no idea how it's to be attached to the scissor spreader. Springs were attached to bag clips... I could have a...
Thank you Bobby, I'm very proud of the way it's turned out! :D
A fan of the slide clips huh? Well, if you desire that over the scissor braces, I'll trade ya a slide clip for a scissor brace.. ;) Or, maybe you'd like to sell me one... maybe.
Sure, I'll email those photos to you.
Well, decided since my 575 was hanging out in the garage right now and not really doing anything special, I figured I'd grab the scissor type bag clip off of it and put it on my 700. I also acquired a really good original black bag with "The Hoover" printed in orange... So, put the two together...
Yeah, well since RCA bought out Victor in the early 30s, they're one of a same, see? ;)
I need to take photos of this thing... it's really quite amazing. However, I seriously doubt I'd be able to give it a proper home seeing our place is very small... And the money is not flowing in as I'd like...
