All the photos I posted were taken over a 5 year period. None of them were taken in the period. :D And thanks!
I have seen the photo of the cars at the drive in as a Santa Fe northern passes by... Pretty neat photo... taken I believe in the mid 50s? But, it's a popular shot for game rooms and...

Yes, I agree... their phones can be a bit high but, they tend to fetch prices much the same on ebay now and again.
I'm waiting for the rubber gasket and black cloth line cord for the AE34... ordered it yesterday, should be here this week!
Planning to visit the Congress Hotel this Saturday...
Modern coffee makers work well however, they take up a lot of counter space. I love percolated coffee much better! If it's done right, it can be wonderful!
Stove top percolators work pretty well, they also fill the whole home with the smell of fresh percolated coffee... In the morning that's...
Great fans... USE THEM!:D
Ya know, make a shelf for it, like they would have in the period... have it high up out of reach and you'll get great circulation and use out of them. Also, we have a cat and it never seems to be attracted to the fan... our cat doesn't seem to be interested in it...
You know, I don't know what brand those are but, I have seen them in a number of books and on ebay a few times. Just keep looking on eBay because, they do turn up. Just search "vintage fan" or "art deco fan" and you'll find one sooner or later.
I believe those fans came out in the late 30s or...
Going to call Phoneco and find if they have the rubber bumper that fits around the base of my AE34.
Funny thing, in their catalog they have a photo of an AE34 and it lists a price over $300. And mentions when available. ;)
Guess I scored a somewhat rare AE. I'm really starting to like...
If you want an early 50s WE telephone, the most common that were still being made and were in every office and most homes was the 302. They made them out of metal before '42, then plastic from then on.
I know many have 302's but, for me it's one of the most timeless old phones to own.
Model 500's are really common... I see them all the time at thrift shops and antique shops for very little. If you can't fix it, pick up another one.:)
Are you suggesting to hot rod a vacuum cleaner?lol
Forgive me but, I'm the type of man who appreciates antiques as they are, never been a person who has liked the idea of "up-dating" an antique. Also, replacement parts aren't made for any of these dinosaurs... and if they did make replacement...
Electrolux came out with the model XXX or model 30 came out I believe in 1939 or so. It was one of their best models. They made that model into the early 50s I think... One of the best canister cleaners made! It would have to be for it be made from 1939 to the 50s. I know people who own them and...
Hate to say it but, one shouldn't really put an old cleaner to a test against the more modern cleaners. Reason is, if a part is broken during the face-off, it's not very likely the part could be replaced, such as the aluminum cast fan... those are not strong enough to stand up to heavy or blunt...
No, need for a ringer box, it's all self contained like a WE 302
Oh, an AE34... would the 34 indicate the year perhaps? I don't know much about Automatic Electrics, I'm mostly a Western Electric guy myself but, I found this and thought it would be a neat one to have. It works very well, I...
Here's a unique fan I picked up this last weekend at the Rosebowl...
I took this photo while the fan was on... the flash makes the blades stand still but, are still some what transparent! lol
The true color of this fan is more green than gray... Cold Wave I believe was a dime store...
Un-earthed AE Monophone.
Pokin' around an antique shop last weekend and found this little number!
Missin' the rubber bumper but, maybe Phoneco has one. It's an earlier Monophone seeing it has the earlier handset. I don't know much about Automatic Electric's but, I like this one... I believe...
