Well, no Loungers came... I'm really suprised... I have large sized vintage there for low costs... [huh] Oh well, guess I'll post what didn't sell here so I can clean it all out.
Found a great item yesterday at American Vintage in Hollywood... I was there with the young lady and a close friend... window shoppin' mind you. Then, I found a black double breasted coat... I saw there were pants with it but, the pants had a stripe down the legs... So, I saw that they were tux...
Thanks! I really appreciate the help!
It just lifts off... Yeah, with the strength of two large men! lol
When we brought it home, we took the top off, set it up-side-down in the back of my friend's car, we moved the whole machine in the back of his Prius, and we got it back to my place...
Thanks for your input, I fear that it will need a recharge or something. I know of a friend who owns a few of these things and has repair books for early GE's.
I'll see what gives next week.
Thanks!
Well, early last month I spotted this little guy at an antique shop... they only had $200. on it and they said they'd go down to $125. I couldn't pass this chance up to own a Monitor Top GE. I've always wanted one for as long as I could recall.
It's in the garage right now and it's...
You know, to tell you the truth I think this is a fine idea. I’m all about the movies of the era and those icons that have transcended time but, what about the average Joe? Well, this is one topic I really enjoy.
Seeing so many old photos and how people really looked day to day is one thing I...
The tiles are a shade of sea green, in the photos they pick up a lot of outside light and the true color isn't represented.
I will snap a few more shots so you can see what I mean.;)
Ok, to give yous all an idea of what to expect.
Guys, there will be neck ties-20s-50s and there will be some shirts, suits and seperates! Large sizes!
There will be some home furnishings such as desk lamps and maybe a fan and a radio or two.
This is going to be a fun sale! Hope some of...
Just for the record:
My real address is in the charming City of Monrovia; founded in 1887 and along historic Rout 66. I'm just north of Huntington Dr. (66) and will be offering old items as well as interesting and unique pieces. Some model rail road HO scale stuff and some radio items, some...
Oh, it's not my machine, my friend bought it... He asked me if $50. is a good price... I told him that there are some sellers on ebay who want to charge $50. just to ship the darn machine! lol
He's really happy with it so far and is looking forward to putting it to work once he sends it home.
Oh, I will post some others soon!
Over the weekend, a good friend of mine from Kansas is in town and he happened to find a model 700 Hoover "Special" at an antique shop. He showed me some photos of it and it was really complete also, it's an earlier rebuild. It has the scissor bag spreader...
Yes, the later fans are kinda tough in that regard. I really like the earlier fans because they're very open in the back and just is easy as pie to take the cage off. Emerson fans are a little different in that they require a special method in removing the blades. You have to stick a small...
Well, there's plenty things left... haven't sold anything yet!
Sorry to those who do not live within the So Cal area, let a lone the US. I hope to have a good sale, I need to move stuff out, I'm becoming some what of a minimalist so to speak.
Oh, of course! It takes just four screws and then the cage is off and the then un-screw a small set screw in the hub... presto! The blades ore off!
I would have left them tarnished if the cage couldn't be removed... there's no way I could have gotten those things that bright with the amount...
Howdy, just lettin' ya know that ol' Forgotten Man (That's me) is openin' his Garage up to off some items I haven't worn, used, appreciated in a long time!
Gotta clear up some space and make things happen... can't use everything I have and may as well send some down the road to others who'll...
Ok, I was sold on leaving this fan all tarnished... but, I got bored of tarnished blades and wanted to see this thing all polished up.
I give you, the 1919 R&M all gleemed up!
I didn't polish the back sides of the blades... that will come later... it took a lot of elbow grease and...
I say a mutual trade is in order... The gent with the phone that doesn't ring, just trade with the member who wishes not to ring!
Sounds easy enough to me... and no wires are cut and everyone is happy!;)
