Don't you remember in the 90s ... after the Reagan power strip tie era ... when several American makers reproduced the geometric patterns?
They were usually silk, not the acetate from the originals, but they were very pleasing.
I don't remember anyone doing horses or hulagirls ... wait a...
I always get a kick out of the "hand made ties" notations.
What do other companies do? Do they train people to make ties with their feet? Are there robot-made ties? Or is there a tie tree somewhere that just grows ties?
I want one of those!

For westerners ... besides Shriners ... a fez is like an extention of the smoking cap that the Victorians enjoyed, which was, itself, an extention of the pillbox hat of the British and British-inspired American officer corps.
The fez was an affectation that a Victorian or Edwardian gentleman...
I was taught never to button the bottom button on a suit jacket unless you're out in the elements because keeping the bottom button buttoned causes wrinkles in the fabric when you sit down ... especially at a desk or in a car.
I would presume on a three-button jacket the top button issue would...
We had a funeral, yesterday, for the man who taught me how to tie a bow tie.
Back in the early 70s he ran a local men's wear store and every young man who came in and bought a bow tie from him got a lesson on how to choose a good tie and how to tie a bow tie.
He was a kind gentleman and ran...
I know what I was thinking ... I think ...
Didn't this hat used to be habitually shown with Tuckerman's extreme Tom Mix crease?
I noticed today when I was researching something else that it does come open.
I hope Akubra doesn't show up at the house tonight and demand their hats back for that...
You've got the etsy link on here.
I did a quick search there for green tie and came up with all sorts, including one with hand painted pheasants on it.
They're a little pricey, as Etsy usually is, but you might try that.
Gray is the new pink ...
No, wait!, Pink is the new black... yeah, that's it. But who wants to wear a pink hat?
Not me!
Unless it was a VS or a Penman, of course!
The grays can tinge towards blue or green, while a true, even gray, is easier to match, I find I am much more critical on...
Harry,
I have four Squatters.
All but one were of the "American" line and the last, my most recent, I ordered from The Hattery in Katoomba, Australia, because I wanted one of the green one before they were all gone.
There is a marked difference.
They are similar hats, but my first ones, which I...
Jeff,
These are good issues for a young man with taste to consider.
When I was a year older than you are now, I began to get serious about classic and vintage clothing and have never turned back.
That year I made a couple of purchases. One was a really classy pair of Wolf Brothers khaki...
I've posted this before ... but at my age you don't mind repeating yourself.
I've posted this before ...
Anyway, several years ago I became acquainted with the members of the western swing group "Riders in the Sky" and at one of their events I asked the guys how they travel with their...
I don't do sandals, but I do enjoy "crocs" especially in warmer weather, with and without socks, depending on weather.
I wear them with jeans, casual slacks and shorts.
I match my hat ... "dressyness," color, shape ... with the pants and shirt and the shoes end up fine ... at least in my...
I believe the issue is whether we want to use a PURSE hangar for our HATs, not whether we want to use a purse hangar for our purses!
I've carried lots of bags with almost 35 years in journalism ... brief cases, camera cases ... and never worried about one that was placed next to my chair.
But...
I was just watching Michael Shane last night ... Blue, White and Perfect ... one of my favorite films from one of my favoriet series ... and his hat was similar ... but I think yours might be classier!
Sam
I think it was Monbla who pointed out that down in Texas it gets so hot that you just CAN'T wear a felt after a while and I know that is true, unless you just have ones you don't care about staining.
I've had Living History fur felts that I would wear in the triple-digit heat and douse with...
Did you notice ... it's a pseudo Panama?
Pseudo hat is more like it.
Oh well, the kids here in town flock into Brass Buckle to spend double on jeans with stiched up worn spots and some brown over-dye that makes it look like they've been running the oil truck on a road repair crew.
We had an...
