    Ishmael, you can always take the arcs off, 5 min. job...And I agree on FH arcs. IH arcs have grown on me... and I think I have seen similar arcs to MOTOR denim....on some very el cheapo low-end jeans, can't dig those, and further from Levi, the better, IMHO

    As I said, 634S poskets are very tight. They'll stretch a bit eventually. I don't carry much in my frontpockets, just some coins and a Zippo. If there is a flaw in 634S, it's how the front pockets are designed. Luckily there are other styles to choose...inside IH brand. BTW, those Lee/Japan...

    I have to agree, and disagree again. I have "washed" my raw Iron Hearts twice prior any use. First wear period on both pairs was 4 weeks I think, in rotation with other jeans. I wear jeans 1 week air them properly and rotate with 2 or three pairs. After about 3 weeks use (see not continious...

    uhhhuhh...hmm. Well, wear 6 mo without washing is some denimnerdy talk. Wear as long as you want (or short period) and wash them when you want. They're just jeans... 634S are stiff right ouf of the box, soaking them hot to get rid of excess starch is adviseable IMO. They'll soften up nicely...

    I have those 6" Chippewa ankle boots in diff. color. Comfy as hell. They are far more better suited for walking than, I think, any engineers....and I have several pairs of engineer boots to choose from.

    Butte Great choises both. Pike Bros is more vintage, and I can't comment on their heavyweight denim. IH on the other hand is a bit modernized, but their signature 21oz. denim is spectacular.

    re washed every 3 weeks... I wear 1 week, air them properly. second week I use another pair as well on third, I take third pair. Then it's back to the first pair. 3 times of that and then wash. If they doesn't get filthy on other activities. If I ever smell my jeans I'd wash them immediatelly

    after Trapps praise, I cannot say more... Here are my IH 634S's after about 1½ years normal use in ratation with other pairs. (this includes several washes, approx after every 3 weeks wear, I wear 1 pair a week, and the air it properly, after 3rd week they get usually washed )

    Kyboots how to sew something on steel capped toebox? The whole is in front of the toebox, almost middle. I guess glue is my best option, unless I hear something comforting from Chippewa factory...I asked them if they rebuild boots...
