Luvly jubbly!
Aero have really hit their straps now with their new Irvins.
Good fit too. Now you just need to wear it and get some good patina going on. Don't baby it BTW, good repro Irvins look far, far better if you give them the hard treatment. You'll end up with a jacket that looks...
Brettafett, it wouldn't happen to be a certain crowd that you got a seal A-2 from earlier this year and who have supposedly made jackets for a certain WWII film coming out?
They were on my shortlist for a new A-2 before I decided to go with GW. If it's the same crowd, I'm pleased I changed my...
That jacket is a modern fashion jacket. Most of the people who knock around here (me included) are mostly into classic vintage leather designs from the 1920s to 1950s. But that's not to specifically bag this jacket, it's just that it doesn't fit into the main interest of most members here...
It's not my cup of tea but if you like it then that's all that really matters.
It's obviously not going to be an Aero/GW/ELC/NorShor/etc but I'd imagine if the build quality is OK then you'll probably get quite a few years use and enjoyment out of it.
Buy what YOU like and just enjoy it.
Bang on Seb.
Too narrow shoulders (along with too short in the body and sleeves) is one of the things that will make a jacket a horror to wear.
Give me 1/2 to 1 inch droop any day rather than 1/2 to 1 inch too narrow in the shoulders. You'll never enjoy wearing a jacket which is too narrow in...
I tend to measure from the end of the outside shoulder itself, which has worked for me in the past.
If you work out (or swim, etc) you'll find that your middle deltoid can add an extra inch or more from the shoulder bone to shoulder bone length.
Just my 2c worth but it's generally worked...
Sloan, it as an A-1 by The Few. Like you I loved it, so much so, I saved the images of it from the Japanese site ;)
This was the jacket that started that little burst of interest in blue leather mid last year around here (and to a lesser degree) VLJ. Petered out pretty quickly. As I said...
Now that's not a silly idea, hadn't thought of a Bootlegger but you're right, that's one that would probably look great in that hide.
Thanks for the heads up about this midnight blue CXL, sounds like just the kind of hide I'm looking for in my next "civvie" leather jacket.
I'm liking the sounds of that even more.
Might have to have a chinwag with Aero once we've done our big move overseas and I've got some spare readies again to splash out on jackets.
Lots of good suggestions here. In truth if you're going the modern route, you probably can't go very far wrong with any modern pair of combat boots from the majority of first world countries. They've come a long way from the days of chewed up feet and wearing them in the bath to try and break...
I really like the sounds of that Sloan. Got any pics of it?
I know where HD is coming from and TBH a lot of the full on 60s stuff probably goes against a lot of those here's sartorial sensibilities.
I actually have a bit of a soft spot for some of the 70s leather blazers and coats. Heck I...
Jon, that looks amazing! You'd be forgiven thinking that you're looking at a well preserved original there.
And even though your skills will have progressed that one will always hold a special place for you ;)
Just stunning :eusa_clap
I have some current Norwegian army issue combat boots which are magnificent boots. They are probably some of the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. They have a fleece/sheepskin tongue and are warm and waterproof. I've worn them hunting/tramping when we last lived over there and I consider...
