    Very nice indeed, beautiful colour and just a stunning lid and I like the ribbon/binding work. I really like the twist 'n flare of colour on the ribbon stay, nice...More I look at it the more I like it, very easy on the eye.

    I've modded these so they have larger ribbons and that wolf pin, so you could take some weight off them but it wouldn't be much. I would think 6 to maybe 10 grams difference maybe, but gives you an idea anyways.

    I can weigh a CampDraft if you like, Deluxe or Imperial? Edit: My imperial CD weighs 170 grams and the deluxe CD (heritage) 198 grams. So somewhere around your bushman (just under/over). Though it seems there is variations in thickness across Akubra's range so there may also be some variations...

    I grew up thinking a hat was pretty much necessary as we spent time on the land, with animals, in the bush and outback (also in the suburbs, never really a big city guy). You just wore a hat if going outdoors for any period of time as you wood shoes, type of hat would reflect what your doing...

    I did the same if you look at the photos above...so it was passed the trimmed /welt edge and even pinched/held the felt flat across the vernier jaws. My FED IV's are the thinnest Akubra's and you can easily feel how much lighter they are. Think I'll go measure those.. Edit: My Dark Brown Fed...

    Seems it's a bit all over the shop, I think my CD deluxe heritage didn't get pounced much, still kinda fuzzy but here's some pics I snapped this morn. I said a hair under 5mm, not 5mm but it's 4.5mm pretty much, close to 5mm lol, check out the pics. Might explain why I never wore this hat much...

I mean when comparing like for like, say a CampDraft in Imperial Vs CampDraft in Heritage...

    Well here's a different kinda handy knife / gadget and it's USB rechargeable. I hate it when my knives run out of Power o_O Well least when it's dark you can see what your cutting one handed...Oh it also doubles as a powerbank so you can charge your cell phone.

One of the few colours I don't have, the Cruiser Grey is much like that, reflects light in all sorts of ways. It often looks a mid to light but it's really quite a solid mid grey, heck in poor indoor...

    Just out in one of the veggie gardens near the house while it's cool out, wearing an old leather/suede fly swatter. Not sure when I got this hat, only wear it when it's dusty and rain is coming as I hate muddy rain on my felt hats. Doesn't get as much love as it used too, meh...Does it's job...

    The OP did themselves I believe lol. Hi There Oscot101, firstly welcome to the lounge. I think that model Stetson is wool felt, if so that's why it doesn't weather well and is less durable. And see below for more info as someone types better/faster than I lol.
