After a long wait my Berteil finally arrived! Looks to be the forest green (or Charmille 'arbor') companion to @steur wonderful blue Berteil. Wonderfully dense and pliable felt, just as good as the older pre wars I e handled.
To my heartbreak, the tags reveal it's actually a 6 1/2 punti as...
Hi Anon, any chance you have photos of showing the jacket? Just want to get a sense of the quarters and general cut.
Finally, just to confirm is it black? Thanks in advance.
I had to immediately snatch this one up. Luckily was looser than the listing size of 56 and fits my 57 head.
Im unfamiliar with the maker EMA, guessing this to be about 20s.
Hope you've all been well! Not a lot of new activity from me, but managed a new addition to the collection.
I believe a 30s Brüder Bohms made for the French market. Luckily this gamble paid off and fits me :)
edit: I think very similar to one Steve got from Panos bar the backbow
Hi Swinglish,
I'm very interested in the grey wool suit (if handymike passes on the pants). What would shipping be to New Zealand? Happy to chat via dm.
Thanks,
Thanks gents - reaffirming to see both strands of thought which went through my head. The 11 March 1944 certainly was something I considered, but I haven't found much evidence one way or the other. From a more contextual perspective, Steve's thesis around the geopolitical situation was pushing...
Beautiful finds Stefan - have to say, out of the recent batch the Biset is the pick for me. Always love a heathered lighter felt - and with such good proportions!
Pretty exciting find for me - sourced locally in New Zealand, a P.C Habig sold in the Polish market. Tagged as a 56 but fits loose so perfect for my 57.5 head!
My feeling is towards 30s/40s. Unfortunately can't make out the stamp on the sweat.
Latest acquisition. Early 20s 3 piece in a chocolate with teal and burgundy stripes. I'm in love with the suiting, subtle peak lapels and the flat fronted waistcoat - plus fish tails rather than bunny ears
Thanks Steve - I haven't really left, just cut back on the hat purchases a lot! This one was too good to pass though :)
Wonderful! I just mentioned it to him and he said he can't quite recall - oh to have so many hats pass my hands as to forget something like this eh?
Hope this is the appropriate thread. First acquisition for a while. I strongly suspect this is Borsalino is pre-war, but unfortunately no labels or tags other than the crown sticker.
