Alois Pichler Wien made by S. J. Fraenkel Wien possibly early 1920s or earlier. I would like to thank Brent selling this fantastic Soft Felt to me.

Looks great, Steve. You’re certainly the right caretaker for this hat.

Hi Folks, Mayserwegener asked me to repost here. New member on a quest for an authentic fur felt Tyrolean style fedora. The unicorn for me is a Biltmore Tyrolean fedora, fur felt velour, golden pheasant in green size 7 3/8 or 7 1/2.

I’m also interested in Tyroleans in the same sizes from some of the original Austrian/German hatmakers but want to focus on fur felt and lined hats. ie. not the wool varieties. Any advice, help or insights welcomed on where to look or who to talk to. Hat is for personal use. Thanks for the read! -Chris

PS, New to forums so hope I don't have this all garfed up.

It's fairly easy to find such hats. I would go with vintage. I would stick to German and Austrian manufacturers.

I had to immediately snatch this one up. Luckily was looser than the listing size of 56 and fits my 57 head.
Im unfamiliar with the maker EMA, guessing this to be about 20s.

Wayne, Super find! The "EMA" mark is Emil Mandel Dresden who was a Wholesaler / Distributor.

It's very similar to my "Gloria" Back Bow. I am thinking it might have been made by Berlin-Gubener Hutfabrik. I am sure your hat is also from a East German company.

Can you tell me what is below "Garn" on the paper label? The paper label is somewhat similar to Max Förster Hutfabrik Altenburg (not far from Dresden).

C. G. Wilke possibly early 1930s. The paper label is missing but I think it might be a "Bürstel Electra". Really fantastic Rust color Velour. The Velour Felt is very pliable with a good amount of gloss. I made a trade with Panos back in April and I forgot to take photos of this hat. Panos was kind enough to send me some photos a couple days ago so I decided to post it here and on my website.

P. & C. Habig Wien Berlin "Special - Qualität Reine Handarbeit / Special Qualität" , 60 cm, 133 grams, possibly 1920s. This one is really fantastic and in near mint condition. It came with a P. & C. Habig Wien Paper Hat Holder. The seller said both belonged to his grandfather so it probably came with the Stiff Felt.
