"New" 100% Beaver cowboy hat purchased for only $29, in a small size (6 7/8). Purportedly made by Out West Hatters, but I recognize the legend as being from Langenberg/Beaver hats.
Haven't reblocked this yet, and the sweat split when I stretched it & then reshaped it from the ranch crease it...
I believe this is unlikely if you've got a good hat brush, but certain if you don't. A whisk broom is sure to cause some damage, but a nice brushing with a proper soft hat brush should just remove the dust.

I bought a $12 wool campaign hat that was stiff with lacquer & reblocked it on the same block as TJ's hat. I'm going to cut the brim to the larger dimension and then trim it by hand as you suggested, TD. I will then cut the crown out of it and use it for a template. This gives me a practice...
I think a complimentary color on the siding might yield a more pleasing look. By that I mean a color that transitions better with the fabric at the tip than the black, which does frame it, but more obviously breaks the pattern.

Thanks. I had hoped to use it for a directional brim on an Indy hat, but it seems to only cut shorter in front and wider on the sides rather than the opposite. The dimensions I am after are 1/8 narrower on the sides that the front. I am not missing anything am I?

Anyway, I wanted to really pop the puffy look. I guess I didn't quite nail the original bow as well as I had wanted, but then again, I don't think Terry would have been happy with the following, because it doesn't look like the other photos, which show the 3D effect of the Flying V. I guess...
Been crazy busy at work. Will pick this up again tonight.
The bow was intended to be really 3D to track the original ROTLA Indy bow. I still can't post photos with Tapatalk Pro. Maybe you could post the ones you send me TJ?

If I were going to give it a try, I'd strip it, turn it inside out, reblock it and sew all the trim back on. That way, the wider part if the ribbon binding would be on the top of the brim, and the narrower part on the bottom (like my 1950's Stetsonian, which very closely resembles my Whippet)...
I'm getting a new error with Tapatalk Pro on the lounge. I'm being asked to put my user name in to post photos, and getting a network error when I do so. Does anyone know if this is an FL issue or a Tapatalk issue? Anyone else having this problem lately?

Interesting that Socrates was ultimately tried, convicted & put to death for corrupting the youth of Athens, no?
Aren't we all just waiting on a ship from Delos?

When will it be? If summer (or November - boaters), then straws.
I've never attended but would if I could plan it. Should be a broad enough theme to draw a crowd. Is there a thread?
