Justin,
What color do you want? I've got two nice homies in brown that are great felt. They are both size 7. I can't sell one for less than I paid, but I got a pretty good deal on them. One is a Rogers Peet. I've forgotten the brand of the other, but both are nice.
PM me if you are...
Hi there. I saw this beauty in an antique store & promised the owner I'd try to get it some exposure.
It is an italian homburg originally purchased in the early 40's in Chicago, along with a beautiful heavy long wool coat that she also has for sale. The hat appears unreeded, but looks like it...
+1
Terry, you should be making greeting cards.
Thanks re the Champ, hatophile. It's one of my favorites. I also have a grey one and a brown one (although the brown needs a new sweat). I should probably sell them at the price some folks are asking on eBay and buy a car...
"Faint hat...
The 25 is very nice. The Teton is a 50's hat, but the felt is probably not any better than a modern 3x Resistol. It's also pretty stiff. I will say I was a bit disappointed with it after handling the 25. The fit is good though, and I like the high crown. It's a bit of a time capsule though...
Bump ,with a new Bandera I picked up for an amazing $9.99 in a BIN. This one is not a 25 like the green one, and the difference in the quality of the felt is significant, but it is a nearly mint iconic 1950's high crown Bandera "Teton." I may just leave this one the way it is.

Item of interest, the first Von Gal I've seen since I started looking some months back. Too small for me and I'm tapped, but it looks to be in overall very good condition, and has the hat case....
"Faint hat never won fair lady."
This is correct, and not just with clothes. I used to interview a lot of people, and here's my take:
Getting an interview means you have the basic requirements for the job, based on your résumé & cover letter. The interview is all about proper "fit." You need to be able to show that you...
One more thing, and I know some of you fellas are going to scream about this, but the recent spike in prices for many collectible golden era hats is pretty much in line with what one pays for a "quality" new fur hat. It is actually a little low, probably, even in light of the "ick" factor...
Interesting mix here lately. Perhaps at the risk of rekindling the argument, The Dane is correct that hat sales had been on a steep decline for decades following the Great Depression. That is a demonstrable fact. The information is easy to find if one bothers to look.
There are a variety of...
This took a little thought to understand, but I think I get it now.
You are saying that the surface area (not circumference) of the edge of the brim changes with flanging, so the brim binding must be applied after flanging rather than before, correct? Also, that the hat is then re-flanged to...
