    I wear them year around. Personally, I wear pointed end knits with suits and square end knits with sport jackets. Certainly not a rule as I've seen many well dressed gents wear square end with suits; Ian Flemming's Bond for one.

    There are a lot of positive aspects boding well for the future but there is one major negative developement which remains largely unaddressed and which carries with it catastrophic consequences: Overpopulation.

    As Kilo and Edward have stated above, the 'proper' shoe would be the simplest (devoid of ornamentation ) and shiniest (patent or highly polished calf). That said, considering what passes for acceptable today a wingtip wouldn't be a major faux pas.
