    Aero Sheene Natural CXL

That's what the leather is supposed to do as it wears in. I don't think that what you've photographed is loose grain (at least as far as I've been able to research what it is in shoemaking, where the phrase is overused). I have similar graining in the arms of most of my Aeros and I think that...

Video of Aero stone washing leather. Is this a new thing?

I thought that initially, but is it a new colour or treatment?

Video of Aero stone washing leather. Is this a new thing?

It's on Facebook's Aero page as a 'story'.

Footwear to go with our jackets

Yeah, the sleeve thing was gauche. Most people also kept super-fit.

Footwear to go with our jackets

I still have a fair few Aeros in the cupboard, but most other things I've sold or cut down numbers of. I've curtailed spending a lot, but I'll need to keep that up when Shanghai comes around again. Years ago I lived in South Korea and at first I wore old clothing. My boss made a point of...

Footwear to go with our jackets

Damn. I knew I'd forgotten something for breakfast- the cigars. Chateau Neuf du Pape, Padron 50th, Tesco Toastier Wholemeal. Yes.

Footwear to go with our jackets

I was really good at frugality when I was earning a great salary in Hong Kong. As soon as I returned to the UK, a smaller salary somehow made me spend too much. Minimalism is a good way to live, but the catch is that most people I know (including me) have owned a lot of stuff before being able...

Footwear to go with our jackets

It is funny that I'll spend a considerable sum of money on jackets but am not willing to do so on watches, footwear, jeans or anything else, really. A bit like going to the supermarket and spending 15 quid on red wine and 60p on a loaf of bread. Not for breakfast, obviously.

Footwear to go with our jackets

At the moment, footwear is just a pair of Merrells as nobody's really travelling long distances or walking them. Feel daft but also Pomopocalypse in a Maxwell and slip-ons.

What inspired the modifications? Looks really good.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I thought it was the camera or the lighting. Kick the stuffing out of it and it'll all settle out.

No, but it looks weird that the lower third looks like it's a different colour to the rest of it...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

has the zipper been replaced? How is it holding up? It's great that it's lasted that long!

    Chapal brand jackets, anyone?

If I had unlimited amounts of money, I might buy a Himel Canuck. Which I would wear in the apartment I would definitely buy in Prague.

    Planning my first jacket

I'd agree with the choice of cotton drill as a lining- it lasts longer than tartan. External chest pockets are really down to preference- they's practical enough for phone or sunglasses, but (IMHO) a jacket without one can be more easily smartened up. I have a goat 50s HB without one- the...

Does anyone have any experience with Horween's Lux Horsehide (offered by Simmons Bilt)

SB does a goat hide called seal- it's more of a russet, heavier than Aero's goat and really nice. Debs will send you out samples. SB glues and skives (at least, on my custom jacket they seem to have done. It was bomb-proof). so maybe ask about that, too.
