If you're in any doubt about the battered hides, go for the tumbled ones. The battered hides change colour and acquire (even more of) a worn look quickly, much more quickly than the standard horse hides. Personally, I really like the battered seal and the battered tan, but people will presume...
This is an unlined French blue work coat from Captain Corsaire. They do various similar things (there's also a thicker, semi-lined, double-breasted short pea coat) in different colours. For a fraction of what a high-end leather jacket costs, they're a steal. This one has lasted ages and has...
The top pocket on the Maxwell - an unzipped open pocket - is the most useful one I've had on a jacket. If I can get a couple of jackets shifted, I'm thinking about something in battered tan with that arrangement, or a Mulligan with the flap pocket. Selling is the first priority, though (want...
They are (and this might be the usual for these kinds of boots) heavy. You would not want to have to move quickly in these unless it was over less than fifty metres and you were used to wearing them. They need insoles unless masochism is your thing, but they're great after a bit.
I got them...
Are hookless zippers more durable than the normal Talon zippers? The fading doesn't worry me too much (although the nickel Talons do wear down to base very quickly), but the functionality is a consideration.
Hoodies seem to have been dock worker wear at some much earlier point (there are various wikipedia-type speculations on this; it seems likely that a hooded one-piece garment was in use much earlier than the later criminal association [which might have been prompted by a reaction to increased...
Sadly, the zipper heat-seal tape fix did not take: it's going to have to go in for a replacement whenever that becomes possible. I might ask Aero if they'll do the replacement as a hookless zipper.
Thanks for this- I like the chest flap and am beginning to consider (read: spending inordinate periods of time) one of these in battered tan if I can shift some others (apocalypse notwithstanding). It looks like a similar cut to the Maxwell.
Those are great- the construction of these kinds of solid boots amazes me. The Wm Lennons go everywhere with me - they're very heavy but you get used to the weight. As long as I get the Topy soles replaced whenever required, I can't see myself needing another pair for many years.
It's Non Stock Flyer (I think the tag said Bronson- can't remember). I wasn't going to go all-out on a 90 pound shirt, so I was really happy with this one. Guy on Ebay was helpful and recommended sizing up, which worked.

These William Lennon tug of war boots with the hobnails left off and some Topy soles glued on by a cobbler. Put some old DM insoles in them and they are as comfortable as I can reasonably expect them to be. I think that they are outstanding value for the price, too.
