Thanks everyone! I will wear it as is tomorrow and then may add bows.
Kate, I've seen embroidery patterns on Ebay occasionally, so they are around. Also, OT, but what happened to your lovely blog? It seems to have disappeared.
I always use bars in the shower, but liquid soap for hand washing. Usually I love Dove soap, especially the cucumber scented ones, and if I'm feeling like a big splurge Lush's fig and leaves soap - absolutely adore it.
Fabulous work ladies! Amy Jeanne, too bad it's too big, but I just wanted to say that there is no way that dress could be considered matronly with that print :)
I just made a dress in homage to my beloved Horrockses and in line with this:
The pattern is Simplicity 1538 and the colours didn't...
Well, don't take the negativity to heart ladies, because at the end of the day the people who are negative never look like I want to emulate their style in a million years, so think it's kinda funny that *they* laugh at *us*!
I wasn't really very vintage today, but was wearing a thrifted white...
Tatum, that is such a great find and story!
The cashmere sweater is by Antoni & Alison (British label) and I got the navy one in a shop last Christmas, so have been looking on Ebay occasionally and this one popped up.
So, I know this is silly because I already have this sweater in navy, but I like it so much I got it in white as well:)
I also got these two fabrics, one to recreate a dress I lost out on a while back, and the poppy print for a skirt or maybe the skirt part of a dress
And I won my first...
This is the first outfit from the festival that I absolutely adore head to toe. Dress could be longer, but love the hat and shoes, even though I'm not big on Re-Mix sandals normally.
^Really? But they had actual costume designers as contestants before!? He does seem nice, but his show is so formulaic and the makeover is never individual. I also wouldn't want to have the exact same ten items as tons of other people. It depends so much on lifestyle.
^Yes, they usually are and often seem to have no interests or hobbies to distract them from what other people are wearing or doing! I now find that adult women do this about personal choices and accomplishments (ie having kids or not, what type of job one has or doesn't have, whether one...
:D Haha, yes, feel free to use this post to impress hubby and stop his nagging! I don't quite know anyone who is as ridiculous as me, except for maybe Mariah Carey...
Ooh, interesting topic. Well, I never think it's too much, but my husband does... :D
I am currently trying to get rid of some things (especially non-vintage clothes) just to make space and because I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the amount. There are tons of things I never wear, but always think...
To be honest, it doesn't really matter whether other people are offended or not as long as you don't try to mock people, which you aren't. There are perhaps always going to be groups of people who are snobbish about it or think others aren't "as vintage" as them, but I generally feel sad for...
Thanks ladies, and the pattern is by Style (View C):
I'm planning to make it in wool and/or tweed for next winter, as it's really quick (apart from the hemming by hand part...).
