The ONLY major detractor is the fact that when the previous owner sent it to Optimo for a reblock/cleaning... they REPLACED the original liner. I saw photos of the original liner... it was next to spotless, no need whatsoever for them to have replaced it. Especially when they kept the original...

Here are the woefully delayed off head shots I promised.
Like I said, went for a sloppy devil-may-care look. I REALLY like this hat... could become my new favorite. In most lighting, it just looks like a darkish light grey, not silverbelly, but in sunlight it tends...
I can't seem to locate that particular hat on Miller's site.
I've heard good things about Miller from various sources, but also that you need to pay attention to their return policies... if memory serves me correctly, you can't return a hat for money back, just credit toward another hat.

I've always enjoyed your pictorial posts, especially of the Bluegrass CD and now the Lighting Ridge.
I have some off head shots of the Resistol I'll be posting shortly.

It all depends upon geography. Now, go south to Kissimmee/St. Cloud and it's loaded with real cowboys wearing hats.
What's scary is the large number of snowbirds and/or retirees we have in Florida. Most of the time when you see them wearing hats... they're cheap fashion fedoras! :eek...
Of course you're referring to the 1950's version. There weren't near as many in 1967. When there were, it was usually older guys like Burt Mustin in one of his many roles in Dragnet [and Adam-12].
I'm a BIG fan of Jack Webb's work. I remember watching Dragnet at night before going to bed when...
Don't forget to take some pics for us! ;) [I used the winking smiley because you're one member who likes to give us photos, which is always fun... Makes you feel a part of someone's hat wearing experience. I should put more effort into shooting my hats]

Here in Orlando, I mainly see fashion fedoras, cloth hats of various shapes, and the occasional straw cowboy hat [depending upon which part of town or suburb I'm in]. When I do see a guy in an outback style hat, they get as many looks as I do in my fedoras.
When I'm out of town, I see MANY...
Interesting observation. I would think that any atypical hat would garner looks from the non hat wearing public, but maybe only certain types. hmmm

I'd have to believe there are trace amounts of the fuel on the sweatband, even if it evaporates. [just thinking out loud on this, not speaking out of experience]
