I'm the same way. I'm not a fan, but if it's there, I'm not going to go ballistic and rip it out. I could care less if I all my hats did or didn't have a plastic insert.

EA was VERY quick to ship the hat out, and it got to LA in less than 24 hours from leaving their hands... God only knows what's happened to it since.
Randy
I'm now tracking it with USPS, Neo.
Tough stuff, waiting!
Well, they only shipped it out Monday... I'm just impatient, especially when it comes to paying premium for shipping.
I had someone ship me an item from a half.com purchase who is in my general area of town and It's been several days...
Unless they didn't scan it at departure, my hat has sat in Customs for going on two days now. [in just an hour or two it will be two days]

I'm surprised that so many people find the plastic hot. [huh] I honestly can't tell a bit of difference between hats that have them, those which don't, and one of my vintages which has no liner at all. [huh] Just my experience with the issue.
If someone wants "cool"... wear straw. lol

This jacket is in GREAT condition. No holes, moth nibbles, torn seams or any defects I can find. Best I can judge by the union tag, this was made sometime in the 1950's [broad time period, yes but it's all I can go on with the info I have]
Measures: 22" across the...
These are tempting me, but I just can't see my way clear to buy 'em... MUST NOT LOOK AT THIS AD AGAIN! :eusa_doh:
Shame that your sale fell through.
Randy
I say this in a joking, yet very serious manner...
What do they jump you each morning as you come in and inspect your suit for sharkskin? [huh]
Wasn't the 1950's sharkskin different from that of the 60's?
Randy
Thanks! I watched the film last night for the upteenth time. Each time I notice something new... this time it was Phil Silvers' character biting his thumb at a passing vehicle when he was hitchhiking.
"The WHAT? Now, what the hell is the Smiler Grogan case?"
"The tuna factory robbery! The...
It's been done to death, but if we quit talking about what's been done to death... the Lounge would have closed its doors long ago! ;)
Neophyte is quite correct. Straight sides, open crowned, they look very stovepipe like.
My Fed looked quite tapered next to this hat.

P.S speaking of...
Now that you're expecting...
Better read Dr. Lounge's threads on hat care... Feeding, cleaning, and general maintenance.
lol
Congratulations on your first hat! Looks nice.

And Now For Something Different
Went for a later afternoon/early evening fishing trip with my dad, so it seemed like a good chance to break in my fishing hat. [yes I wore an oxford shirt fishing... it was a thrift store find meant for wearing around the house and such]
When you're about to...
That's how it goes some days! Sorry you had a negative comment, those are always rough, even if a person is thick skinned, it's not pleasant.
Normally, folks only speak up when they have something pleasant to say, I KNOW I've had some "snide looks" and then laughing as I get out [or so they...
The Stylemaster is an excellent starting point. I'm hesitant to suggest a Squatter due to the brim width, which is rather wide for someone fairly new to hats. Heck, I had issues with the width of mine to the point I had it trimmed down!
One thing I've learnt since getting into hats, you can...
