Hey Gilgamark, great hats. I really like the looks of that Bailey "Sinatra". What's the brim width, 2"? And how about the construction details? I've never owned a Bailey before and have long wondered about the quality of their hats.
Thanks for the compliments, fellows. The Campdraft looks great no matter what type of bash it's given. It's such a pleasure having an open crown to customize.
I had to stop drinking after that last photo; everything was starting to get blurry..
Blockheads unite!!
I have created what I call my "H.B.S.", i.e. "Home Blocking Station", using a piece of plywood and lots of Das modelling clay. The stuff is great and dries rock-hard. It can be sanded and resists heat. You can customize your blaock to fit your exact head shape, in my case...

Insired by Diazawaguy's new VS stingy, I decided to wear this hat today. This is a nice one that I got from a local hat shop that was cleaning out it's attic; they were getting rid of a lot of new old stock hats from the 60's and 70's which they termed "old-man hats"...
Nice to see that Whippet/stingy brim in action, Diazawaguy. It looks great! Is that a Shinto or Buddhist shrine? What is the prevailing religion of Japan? I was fortunate to spend several weeks in Otaru, Sapporo, and finally Kagoshima in 1989. Loved the beer gardens, the "habu saki" and...
This hat has perfect proportions. The tall, almost untapered crown are what make it so great. Not to mention the beautiful color choices. This is what a stingy brim should be!
I am in the "queue" to get a custom hat from Art and I've been agonizing over what type to get: Stratoliner clone or...
Bobc's pics inspired me to buy a silverbelly Campdraft, too! He really looks good in his.
As far as dirt is concerned, the color is light, but not that light. It's more of a medium beige and shouldn't show dirt too badly. As I discovered yesterday, Akubra's silverbelly is really "sand" and...
It's just too bad this hat can't be gotten in more colors. It really is an incredible value. It's as close as you can come in modern times to buying a golden era type hat without going custom.
Hooray, it has arrived!
I've just got time to post a few pics before I go pick up my little boy at school. My new silverbelly Campdraft:

Next to my taupe...
Just got to thinking a bit more and remembered that many hollywood actors wore toupees; probably more at the insistance of the studios than because of any personal shame at being bald.
I, too, can be counted amongst the ranks of the follically-challenged. Watching old movies and looking at photos I've noticed that balding men simply grew their hair long on top and plastered it down with pomade, just like men with full heads of hair. I've never seen a vintage "comb-over"...
I think black would look fine, too:
Or brown:
Or blue:
Some other possibilities:
