Campdrafters! How tall are your crowns bashed?

I have my Campdraft in a diamond, but it doesn't have that hand done look like Jimmy Stewarts bash in the thin ribbon movie thread, or many of yours. Also, many of the crowns I see here appear taller. Mine's at around 4-5/8" front and 4-1/8" back. I might just re-bash to get that more imperfect, hand bashed look. What are the measurements of your crowns, after the bash, in the front and the back? Thanks Campdrafters!

Mine is 5 inches in the front and 4 inches in the back with a diamond crease.

just to show you my crease....and I also have replaced the FFA pin with a DC-3 to be more like my Stratoliner.

I put a V in the front so it's 4 1/4" in the front, 4" in back, and 4 3/4" on the peak of the sides.

I found that I have to keep the front low because of my broad mug, but I keep the sides higher.

Thanks gentlemen, I enjoy seeing photos of your Campdrafts. When my wife first saw mine, she said it looked like I had a coffee can on my head. So, I self-consciously bashed it a little lower and when I made the diamond I pushed up in the middle and got a nice little hump in there. When I was done, it looked like a machine produced C-crown though. It looked okay, but then came the thin ribbon/movie thread and I decided I loved the look of Jimmy Stewarts bash.

My appreciation for different types of fedoras has evolved over time. I didn't think the Campdraft with it's thin ribbon was something I was interested in. But after seeing so many here, my opinion has changed and I think they are a fantastic hat.

So, I just did a re-bash, I got the front a little closer to 5" and tried to get that less than perfect diamond shape going. Someday soon, I'll trry to post some pics.

CampDraft for sale

I thought I'd let everyone know in this thread that I'm putting a brand new silverbelly campdraft size 58 in the classified section.

for some silly reason, I thought that it would be more silver, but it's more a sand color, Nice, the color just doesn't look right on me.

I paid $190(usd) for my Fed IV and the Campdraft w/ the fast shipping. I'm just looking for $95 for it having it shipped to you. I am going to loose too much money shipping it back to make it worth while returning it.

Thanks.

I am a 7 1/4 ~ 57.5 if anyone has something else, I'd definitly be intersted in a trade.

PM me if you want more info, etc.

Thanks,

Rob

Here's Mine

Mine is bashed a little lower, I guess. It is 4 1/4 in front, 4 5/8 at the highest, and just over 4 in the back.
