A diamond bash is a center crease which has been modified with an additional crease width-wise, to make a cross or diamond shape dent in the top of the hat.
This is mine:
I have a Campdraft but I don't have a Stetson Open Road. I suspect the front-view taper on the stetson comes from a deep center dent and side dimples. A deep center crease will make the sides move in-ward as seen from the front, but will give reverse taper as seen from the side. The Campdraft...
Tu as peut-être raison, mais les grands bords ont tellement de panache!
I think I've got some sort of bi-polar hat disorder; I love the really stingy brims but I also think the stratoliner type hat is super cool. Heaven knows what people must think of me; 1 5/8" brim one day and 2 3/4" brim...

I've really taken a liking to my Campdraft and I think it looks great with a suit. But the weather is getting chilly, and I don't think it goes well with my winter coat. What do you think? Is the black coat too severe or formal for a thin-ribbon style hat?
It is indeed the Burma. It's probably my less-than-stellar photograpy skills that make the color seem different. Though, looking at the site, I'd say that in person the color is just a bit warmer, or browner than the color sample given.
If the sweatbands were sewn in a bit more carefully, I'd...
