i don't know about y'all, but finals, the holidays, and a vacation have left me with some bad eating habits and a few extra pounds!
starting this week i'm working on:
- riding my bike EVERYWHERE (except school - downtown is a construction nightmare and it's scary) instead of taking the...
sophia, my bangs have just recently passed the stage yours are in. when they were that short, i usually just parted my hair on one side and bobby pinned or clipped the bangs down, and smoothed it with hairspray or gel. now that it's a little longer i can use a curling iron and do a cute...
someone posted about this website in the Livejournal Vintagehair community. some of the dresses aren't so vintage-looking, but some of them are really WOW!
unique-vintage.com
lots of stuff today!
i'm listening to the mix cd's i just made for a friend, to make sure they're up to par.
the artists:
disc 1: Andrew Bird, Cat Stevens, Ani Difranco, Air, The Hidden Cameras, Elliot Smith, Aimee Mann, Carla Bruni, Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Ella...
Feng Li,
i would suggest heading over to: Alberta Co-op on NE Alberta and 15th (my favorite place to shop); People's Co-op on SE 21st(?) north of Powell; or Limbo on SE 39th south of Holgate. Mountain Rose Herbs is a good online resource, based out of Eugene.
last night i watched one of the last episodes of Carnivale (i think i only have 4 more to go - sob!), and i've also just started watching Arrested Development season 1, which is the funniest show i've seen since Freaks and Geeks!
vintage clothing is one major motivator for me to try to keep/get my weight down, along with the fact that i eat more cr@p than anyone should (as do most americans). my ethics and beliefs say i should be eating mostly local, less- or un-processed, vegan food, but i haven't been at all. i need to...
i saw ST while on vacation in LA last week and i loooooved it!
and on display in the lobby:
the picture quality isn't so hot because i was being rushed and using the still feature on my camcorder and not a real camera.
i've had one of them in the past, and if i remember correctly i liked most of the songs, but there were also a few more modern re-recordings of some of the songs that i didn't care for. i would preview the songs before buying, if possible!
i vote yes! those are adorable.
i have vintage frames, but my prescription is only for reading.
there's a guy named Mateo at Hawthorne Vision that i would recommend working with, if you decide to have your prescription put in them! it's at Hawthorne and SE 41st-ish
:offtopic: oh my gosh, agreed! i'm a cyclist and have had soooo many near misses! riding on the sidewalk isn't necessarily much safer, with driveways and streets to cross and such. all my friends ride for transportation as well, and many have had bad falls due to things as simple as fender...
everyone's hair is looking so good!
this is my hair on christmas eve. it was my first time using Hot Sticks, and can i just say they were the best $40 i ever spent!!! so effective and easy to use. i sectioned off the front, side and back hair, used some sort of fructis curl mousse, let it...
one of my presents from my boyfriend was a necklace and earring set from the late 50's. it's gold with olive green and little pearls. not really my era or color, but he tried so hard and i think i can make it work. he actually went to a vintage store looking for a present for me!! i have a pair...
as someone whose current partner works for Whole Foods/Wild Oats, i have to mention that when you shop there, the higher prices are compensating not only for the fact that it DOES cost more for organic stuff to make it to the market, but that the staff makes a living wage. the stores here start...
