I just found this series on Amazon.com - don't know why I haven't run across it before, but it looks like there's about 10 different albums of WW2 music. Do any of you have the complete series or a few of the albums? I'd like to buy a few - heck, the whole set if I had the money! - and wanted to know what you thought.

i've had one of them in the past, and if i remember correctly i liked most of the songs, but there were also a few more modern re-recordings of some of the songs that i didn't care for. i would preview the songs before buying, if possible!

I have Songs That Got Us Through WWII, 1990, Rhino Records, Inc. and Those Were Our Songs, Music of World War II, 2001, Capitol, Records, Inc.
Both are excellent purchases from Amazon.
Also; The Essential Big Bands, 1992, Polygram Records and The Big Band Era, 1998, Hindsight Records, Inc.

There are many, many more CD's available for the WWII era. These four are ones I play often.

I have a few complilation CDs of World War II music, and I don't want to duplicate songs if I can help it. But I also don't want modern-sounding renditions of the songs, either.

Thanks for the input, everyone. :)
